This bad boy works great with my new Dell - Inspiron 15.6" Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i3 - 8GB Memory - 128GB SSD - Black . The plug and play makes it sooooooooo easy to use . Love it .

Does what it says! Easy to setup and use. I do recommend setting it on a table when using (I originally used it on top of my computer and it felt less stable and more like I was going to break the door when using).

Very easy. Plugged it in to a USB port and viola! I have an optic drive. It was much needed to install some software to my new computer - which came with no optic drive.

This external drive held up to the positive reviews and met my needs for burning of CDs and DVDs. I use a small (lite) laptop as my PC and this drive complements it just right! You can definitely bring this device along to use during trips.

This little CD drive is a great plug-n-play item! No drivers, no downloads, just plug into an available USB drive and go. One of the few items backward compatible with Windows 8.

Bought this for playing dvds on a road trip. The drive couldn't be easier to use or install. I plugged the USB cable into my laptop and it installed the drivers and functioned almost immediately.

This was the same price and similar statistics as the LG version, but I have a Dell XPS laptop, so I went with the common branding, also, it comes with some reasonably good software for writing/reading dvds etc. It would be nice if it had a usb-c connection, but sadly, it does not. If that's your thing, they started selling one recently at bestbuy with a usb-c connection from another company. Would likely have gotten that one if it was an option when I purchased this one as my laptop usb connectivity is all usb-c and would prefer not to have to use an adapter.

I have a newer/small Dell laptop for work, and it doesn't have a DVD drive. I needed to rip some video of a training program to send to other coworkers. The drive worked well and fairly quickly. Met all my epectations and the price was right.

I have now a way to finally play music on my MacBook! Wonderful.

My new Dell computer didn't come with a DVD. I bought this and it works great. It plays both audio CDs and movie DVDs, plus very reasonably priced. Very easy to use and install.

I bought this because I bought a new HP computer (from another merchant) that had a dead DVD Read/Write player from day one. I contacted the HP support and they wanted me send the computer to them for testing. I told the tech that the problem is a weak laser and even though they agreed with this based on the symptoms I described I would still have to send in the computer. I told the tech that I will just buy an external drive and never buy another HP. That solved all of my problems with the HP.

This was the cheapest way to get the dvd/cd component with my new Dell computer. Since I don’t use this feature much, my technician thought this would be the Best Buy. Works great and is very light weight.

Excellent product. This Dell USB Slim DVD +/- RW drive is the perfect dvd drive for my son's slim notebook that does not have a dvd drive.
