I looked into reviews of other drives that worked with Windows 10 and some weren't compatible. This one said it was...got a good price, and it does what I expect it to do. I haven't used it too much, but every time it is needed, it works great.

The CD/DVD drive works well. It’s really light; so it takes two hands to operate.

I had to give up the DVD player in my VERY OLD HP, so this light-weight Dell fits the bill for a substitute. I'm confident in the Dell brand.

I am sure by now you know that most laptops sold today do not have a DVD drive. I purchased this so my teenagers could watch movies on their laptops on a long drive. This was the perfect purchase! It was easy to operate and made my kids happy!

I bought a cheap drive online only to return it, then similarly through a major online retailer. Picked this up locally at my Best Buy store and it's worked perfectly (without needing drivers) on my Windows 10 laptop.

The Dell external cd drive easy to use and convenient

Bought this drive to go with new Dell 2 in 1 laptop. Easy to connect, install, and use. Does everything that a built in drive would do, and does it well. Looks nice, runs quiet. Highly recommend this piece if you need an external optical drive.

Bought this to accompany my mom's surface laptop; honestly though I don't believe she has used it yet. But in testing it does everything we expect it to and allows her to be portable.

The DVD player works great but the software included will only install on a Dell system, so that is useless, I guess that's why it included. The other DVD drives did not come with software at all.

To save money I got a lap top without a cd rom drive. This portable unit easily fills that need and I only have to hook it up when I need it. It's not the fastest, but it is more than sufficient.

Didnt realize computers no longer come with places to put cds in. Bought this and problem solved. Works great!! So glad I’m still able to view my photos and put in my music cds

got a dell laptop that did not have an internal cd player which was a surprise but not a big deal. i bought this dell external to be sure it would work and it did without any trouble. truly plug and play, what could be simpler and easier!

It feels a little cheap but works well. It still has USB A and the old Mini-B connectors on it.

I was not expecting the new laptops to come without CD/DVD drives. In light of that, this type of add-on is necessary if you want to load existing software to your computer. I presume it would also allow the display of entertainment CD's and DVD's through the computer.

I was looking for a portable, external drive and this one was on sale, had a great overall rating plus I applied a points reward to it so got a great price. Working fine so far. We have two now and would recommend this to a friend.

Pretty much plug and play. I plugged it in to my new laptop and followed the instructions. I downloaded the updated programs and I was off and running> Easy to setup and easy to use!
