With most of the new lap tops coming out without a DVD writer, this unit was a great add on. Very reasonable price and performance. No issues, worked first time, computer recognized it.

Purchased with a black friday deal and well worth the price and functions like it should.

I bought a new Windows 10 PC without a DVD drive. I had "stuff" on CDs that I wanted to migrate to the new PC. I just plugged the DVD drive into the USB port and I was up and running. No mess, no hassle.

Just purchased an All In One computer and needed an external drive for some software that I still had on CD Rom. Good quality, does the job, was able to install my software on my new computer and glad I made the purchase.

Works just as you would expect. Simple to install and operate. It’s a Dell product and so quality is consistent with Dell products. Comes with a very basic software package for video playback and editing.

Not much to say... it's plug in DVD drive and it operates as expected. Its light weight so i barely notice it in my laptop bag. It works smooth and is a nice extra when buying a 2-1 laptop. I would recommend getting some sort of protective pouch to keep it in

OK, I have only had this about a week ad have not tried "everything". But as of this point I can say it plays CD, CDR, DVD, CDROM & DVDROM great with no issues. About the only thing I have not tried is burning discs. I mainly got this for installing my older games that are on DVDROM. I did play a couple CDs, CDRs & DVD and also works great. Very simple to set up even for a LOW-TECH old goat like me !!! The device itself seems to be nicely built and solid but still light weight and so when inserting a disc you might need to hold the unit with your other hand. The only thing I would change is the kinda short USB card. If it was a little longer this would be a FIVE star hands down, As with most major brands these days, DELL might not have actually made this and simply contracts other manufatures to make for them but even so whoever actually made this did a great job and build it solid.

This product seems to be working great. It was so easy to set it up and use it right away. It is very light and easy to unplug or plug in to your laptop when needed.

Worked perfectly with my Dell computer. Although it is lightweight and thin, it is very sturdy. I wish that had continued placing optic drives in the computer, but this is the next best thing.

It seems to be working but I haven’t printed any patterns from my discs yet.

Inexpensive drive. Works well with Windows 11. No problems using a hub to connect it to my Microsoft PC.

Does the job exactly like it should. It is feather weight and probably wouldn't withstand something heavy falling on it, but like I said, it does the job and is very easy to use; plug-and-play.

Needed a disk drive for my Razer Blade 15, but didn't want to cheap out. However, there's a flimsiness to the thin disk tray that makes it feel fragile when changing discs. Gave me zero issues reading and writing DVD-R content. Overall good, lightweight, and practical portable drive.

Purchased for the price. It is a slow drive but does it's job. Suggest to get a faster drive to watch or review streaming or video.

I just replaced an old laptop and needed this because today's laptops are built without DVD players. I still like to listen to CDs and burn DVDs on occasion. Without this, my DVD ripper software license would be worthless. I removed this item from the box, removed all of the protective coverings, plugged it into my USB hub, and inserted a CD to test it. It was that simple.
