A nicely assembled DVD drive, although a bit on the flimsy side. In that respect it's very similar to the ones that used to be built-in to laptops. I simply bought a protective case for inside my laptop backpack, and for the price, it can't be beat. Imho. It plays and burns music CD's, and it plays movie DVD's (I use different software than what came with the drive). Haven't burned a DVD yet, but there isn't any reason to suspect it won't do as well, given the aforementioned. Good price. Does a great job. Yes, I'd recommend it and buy it again if needed. Get a case!

Worked as intended. Recognized by Windows 11 no problem. Was able to read a scratched dvd that two other internal drives couldn’t. Light and portable. Recommended. Also the included Cyberlink software was appreciated.

Purchased in order to burn cd’s on a Dell laptop with Windows 11. Setup was easy and performance was excellent.

This drive works just fine. It came without an assigned area. So had to assign it to area 1 USA. After plugging into a USB port it does not show in File Explorer or Drive Manager but shows in Device Manager. It will only show in File Explorer AFTER a disk is inserted. Other than that it works great. It's quiet, after inserting a disk the auto play works as expected. I had to put some velcro on the bottom of the unit...it wanted to slide all over when trying to operate the tray button, it's so lite.

My new computer doesn't have a slot for an optical drive. This external drive works well in copying my CDs to the new computer. I use iTunes for Windows rather than the software that comes with the drive. I haven't burned any MP3s onto disc yet, but I assume that will work well, too.

My new Dell laptop does not have an internal DVD drive as do most laptops today. However, I have software on discs and music that I wanted to load on my laptop. The external drive has worked very well so far. It's small enough that I can carry it around in my computer bag if I need to.

I purchased the Dell Slim Disc Drive since my laptop does not have a built in disc drive and I can now access my genealogy research which is on discs.

Got this on sale at Best Buy. I used my $10 gift certificate and got this for very little money. It is a very compact unit. No drivers had to be installed. It was plug and play and works great!

The DVD/CD Drive works great. Easy ti setup and use.

Perfect addition for my laptop without an Optical Drive. I love the fact that this slim drive is Plug & Play. I trust the brand and it works as advertised. This allows me to have the best of both worlds- a laptop that weighs much less and I still have the ability to have an optical drive.

This is easy to tote around & it works with mac or windows. It burns or plays CD or DVD.
