I needed a USB plug and play DVD player. I found this Dell drive. I was able to watch the movies I needed to watch as my computer lacks a DVD drive. Excellent quality and great performance, I love it.

My new laptop did not come with a DVD/CD drive. I don't use DVDs or CDs very often, but I purchased this in case I ever needed it. I tried it out and it works flawlessly with both DVDs and CDs. The drive is small enough to keep in my laptop bag and is there when I need it. I can't ask for anything more.

My dad has a massive CD collection that he wanted to convert to digital files for his phone and truck. I bought this for him because it was simple to use with plug and play technology. Not only was a 67 year old guy, who is not tech-savvy, able to use this right away - but also, he was able to burn/rip hundreds of CDs very quickly!

My fellow mediocre artists and I have decided to resurrect the lost art of mixtapes and homebrewed albums. Although Soundcloud, Spotify, Audiomack, Bandcamp and frankly any other streaming service offers ease of use, AI curations, and a wide audience, there is something surreal/special about holding a physical copy of your audio art that makes it feel more alive (literally tangible). And because internal disc drives are a thing of the past on the current generation of laptops, I found myself in need of an external drive with CD burning capabilities. The Dell DW316 does the trick with my 2019 Thinkpad X1 Yoga 4th Gen. There was practically no install time and it was up in running almost as soon as I plugged it in. This shiny plastic box has a decent price compared to other brands. If you're looking for something to burn your childhood fantasies onto, you've found it. I imagine the other uses advertised work but I have yet to try them hence the 4-Star rating.

Does what it's supposed to. Feels extremely light and fragile like it could easily break. However, I did drop it from desk level, flat, and it still works. So yeah, I recommend it. If you step on or roll on it...it'll most likely crack.

This is truly a plug and play device. I've just started using it so I can't really review this completely so for now I'll just say that it's extremely easy to use, takes up very little space on my desk and play all of my media.

Very light, very thin and adequate speed for a portable drive.

You can buy $1,000 computer and they still don't have the drive that you can burn CDs with. This is great portable and inexpensive.

This is a worthy product. I saw this item by happen-stance and hoped that it would work with my brand new laptop and viola...it works perfectly. It didn't work immediately, but that was because you have to load your system with the CD that's provided. I didn't know how it should function after that though, as the directions for use are non-existent (the manufacturer should REALLY include instructions with this product for practically computer illiterate people). End result though, is that after fiddling around with the computer for a bit, it began to work (Yeah!!!). And it works great.

I had software I needed to install that was only available by CD and my new laptop does not have a CD drive on it so this allowed me to install and complete my work. Worked great. Did not need to install anything to use it as I just plugged it into the USB and it was ready.

I hardly know this is in bag. Lightweight, potable and fast.

So, I GUESS my laptop is a dinosaur. I was kind of mad at the American Heart Association, because I told my Fire Chief, that I needed the courseware for teaching my BLS - CPR/AED class. So, I picked it, told him the price and we bought it. I knew I had a CR-ROM on my laptop. I was testing equipment, and suddenly my CDR-ROM would NOT open. So, I now have this. It is actually awesome. HOWEVER, it is one more thing I have to ensure I have with me. My work computer does not even HAVE a CD-ROM. So, I cannot be angry. This is a God-Send though.

Works well with my MacBook Pro and Mac Mini. I was able to review and download file recored years ago. Staff was very helpful with information. I learned more in the 15 minutes in your store than I did in more than the hour I spent at Apple store. And, the price was much less. So I got more for less! Love it.

This DVD player was easy to set up and use. I would recommend it to anyone.

Purchased this Dell DVD Drive because my laptop doesn't have a DVD drive. I like the quality of Dell products. The Drive is small and easy to connect. Also, it has DVD burning software which I wanted to have also.

Just what i needed to play my DVDs. hooked up with ease and the price is perfect.

The product is light, which makes it easy to transport, if you need to go on the road with this.

The CD burner matched my Dell tower's specs and is performing beautifully

My last dell desktop was bought in 2011 and worked great only upgraded because it would not accept widows 11. I love dell products
