I also used it to copy a disk and that was successful. I have had it for a few weeks with no problems. I am pleased with its performance. Also no set up was needed to use the external drive.

Not the fastest, but I'd probably need and internal desktop drive to get that. Considering my needs copying CD's for a few people in church who don't have new equipment at all, works fine with the enclosed software.

I have installed some of my older programs on new lap and it worked wonderfully. It is easy to use and does a good job while taking up little room. Great price too!

MUST HAVE ITEM!

This was devastating for me, however I searched for an external disc drive and found this one by Dell. This external disc drive can be plugged into a laptop and does not require any software installation. It runs like a champion!!! I find myself going back in time as I burn CDS and play roller coaster tycoon on my laptop. I would definitely recommend buying this item!
