Purchased this Dell DVD Drive because my laptop doesn't have a DVD drive. I like the quality of Dell products. The Drive is small and easy to connect. Also, it has DVD burning software which I wanted to have also.

I am very happy with this drive. I had purchased another brand and it was more of a backup drive, had two usb cords and wasn't user friendly really didn't like it. Read allot of reviews and the ones for the Dell were good and mentioned it only had one usb cord which I like. Works great did my jobs without any problems.

Works as required. Burns the CD onto my laptop with zero issues. Slick and looks nice, taking up basically zero space.

Incredibly easy to use - just plug it in and it works (Windows 10 PC). It's nice and slim, CD ejects well. No problems. And it appears to be durable because it fell off a table recently while running with an audio CD, hit the floor, but continues working just fine.

You can buy $1,000 computer and they still don't have the drive that you can burn CDs with. This is great portable and inexpensive.

Worked great. I have a Del all in one desktop, and this Dell drive was a simple plug and play where another brand I tried required downloading software to work.

I bought the Dell 316 external optical drive because the internal drive stopped working. The drive itself works well . The CyberLink Media Suitev.12 would not load into my Inspiron M731R laptop running Windows 10. I use VLC Media Player and Nero Burn Express 3 and the 316 drive works flawlessly. Good mechanicals, out-of-date software...

Was looking for a reasonably priced USB 2.0 DVD r/w . The Dell was on sale at the time, and seemed like a nicer drive than the other USB 2.0's Hooked it up and installed the Cyberlink Media Suite (included). Then opened a photo DVD to transfer the files, was pleased how well it worked.

Worked correctly right out of the box. Drivers updated automatically and could play a cd within 2 minutes of opening.

I bought this drive mainly to record my vast CD collection onto Apple Music/iTunes on my desktop & iphone. So far I have recorded over 185 albums without issue. The price I paid was very reasonable, also. I do recommend this product.

I needed this for a show I had DVDs for and wanted to watch on my computer. It worked really well for that. But it’s not quite “plug and play” . There is some necessary set up that must be completed, and even my not so Tech Savvy self was able to get that done! It easily plugged into a USB port.

This will definitely be an asset if your computer doesn't have a disk drive. I purchased it because of having so many old photos on disc. When I used it I felt like I needed to be careful of the drawer, it's a bit light weight. But for how inexpensive the product is, it is what I expected. Over all it works great for my needs.

The drive is very sleek but the downside is that you hear a lot of noise when the disc is moved even slightly. I feared that the disc is hitting the drive box and it was not being held properly. In case you see moving a lot while the drive is attached to the laptop, you should not be opting for it. But in case you at stationed at one place while the drive is attached to desktop/laptop I find it as useful product
