Always need a cd drive!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were excited to receive this item. With most computers not having a cd drive option an longer it is great to be able to purchase external ones. Great price and looking forward to using!

Great external drive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.New laptops do not include internal DVD/CDROM drives. This is a great add-on for a reasonable price. You can stash it in your case in the off-chance you need to look at data, burn, listen to a CD/movie on your travels.

Great external DVD writer.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With most of the new lap tops coming out without a DVD writer, this unit was a great add on. Very reasonable price and performance. No issues, worked first time, computer recognized it.

The product works as advertised.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a new Windows 10 PC without a DVD drive. I had "stuff" on CDs that I wanted to migrate to the new PC. I just plugged the DVD drive into the USB port and I was up and running. No mess, no hassle.

No problems, works as expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not much to say... it's plug in DVD drive and it operates as expected. Its light weight so i barely notice it in my laptop bag. It works smooth and is a nice extra when buying a 2-1 laptop. I would recommend getting some sort of protective pouch to keep it in

An Added Bonus Comes With This
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent product and it has a downloadable media reader! The reader alone saves you the cost of a separate purchase of a media program. I couldn't be happier with this---great choice!

Perfect
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does the job exactly like it should. It is feather weight and probably wouldn't withstand something heavy falling on it, but like I said, it does the job and is very easy to use; plug-and-play.

Great for Travel
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed a disk drive for my Razer Blade 15, but didn't want to cheap out. However, there's a flimsiness to the thin disk tray that makes it feel fragile when changing discs. Gave me zero issues reading and writing DVD-R content. Overall good, lightweight, and practical portable drive.

Simple and Effective
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just replaced an old laptop and needed this because today's laptops are built without DVD players. I still like to listen to CDs and burn DVDs on occasion. Without this, my DVD ripper software license would be worthless. I removed this item from the box, removed all of the protective coverings, plugged it into my USB hub, and inserted a CD to test it. It was that simple.

It does its job.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Long gone are the days when manufacturers put extra devices in laptops. There's no blame - most of the programs that are purchased are available online for download and installation. Every once in a great while, there's something that requires installation from DVD, and it appears that I have every object that requires computer control/interface that does not come with downloadable software. This works fine. It occasionally doesn't want to communicate with the computer, necessitating removal of the USB cable and reinsertion. It's loud, and it reminds me of an old 5 1/4 inch drive searching around for the software leprechaun. It seems a little slow, but that may be relative as we live in an era of SSD and internet connections that are in the hundreds of mbps. It's an OK drive. It does it's job, but there might be better ones out there.
