I did need to down load a DVD reader for some DVD's but there are many low cost options available. I find this unit very easy to attach to my computer when needed and have had no problem with it working. I recommend this unit if you're looking for a basic DVD player!

The small size and potability helps out a lot in using this drive. When not in use, I can place it somewhere so it will not clutter my workspace. It also is a help when using the laptop and wanting to add something from a disc storage.

Love this machine if you need a cd player. With most new laptops there is no cd rom in them, so I'm still a little old school and need one at times, but I just bought a new laptop that doesn't have it installed, I decided to get one, and sure enough I have used it a few times already, and really love it. its quiet and fast and when I have done what I need with it, I put it away back in box and in desk till the next time.

used to play old games that i had on disks but i no longer have a disk drive on my laptop. works great.

Works great w/2013 MacBook Pro. MacBooks dropped the disk drive and have yet to need one until now.. Got this for $30 and works like a champ. USB powered so only one cable and good to go. Included cable is USB-A to Mini USB.

This was exactly what I needed and the correct size to mount on top of my computer without overhang. Installation of software was smooth but somewhat confusing as to what was actually included.

Dell's DVD/CD Read Write accessory works great and with its free easy to load software bundle makes it easy to copy/burn dvd's/cd's or view movies, etc.

Computers rarely come with DVD/CD players today, and since they're rarely used, it's nice to have a portable DVD/CD player around for when you do need it.
