I needed an external DVD writer as these are no longer included with newer PCs. It's working fine in my system and it was just what I was looking for. I Highly recommend this product!!!

I got this without realizing it only plays dvd discs and not Blu-ray. So i had to return it unfortunately. But the price was really good and name brand.

I use this hooked up to my laptop. I've had no problems. It's not delicate; I've moved it from room to room and house to house. I have enjoyed watching 3rd Rock From the Sun on dvd (which can be bought cheaply and watched at leisure without commercials).

I purchased product to run a CD. New Dell laptops do not have a slot for the CDs. Dell USB Slim DVD+/- RW Drive performed excellently for my new Dell laptop. Able to install new software.

New PC did not come with DVD drive. I still have old software that came on a CD/DVD. Was able to reinstall it using this. Worked fine.

Had a problem with a different DVD burner, so went looking at reviews. Needed one that would work with a Surface Pro 6. The other one required more power than the USB connector on the Surface Pro 6 provided. Have been using this for over a year, roughly once a month to back up my novels to disc because I do not trust USB or SD card backups alone. Have only used this on Windows 10 device though, so keep that in mind. Purchased it because it had very good reviews on Best Buy and elsewhere. It has held up fine. Has never been dropped (knock on wood) so cannot speak to its durability under duress. Kept indoors too. I burn two DVDs once a month roughly.

Needed a disc drive for my New beautiful Dell inspiron 7000 27" It is slim & nice looking and i love the silent Suppressed noise it Makes hardly any noise just like my AIO dell desktop makes you cant hear it and im glad when im watching movies on my computer

This external USB Slim DVD Drive is slim, compact, and portable. My recently purchased laptop doesn't have a DVD drive, so I purchased this as an add-on. It is pretty good quality. Setup was very easy, simply plug and play (like a USB thumb drive) on my laptop that runs Windows 10.
