Great for my needs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.When I got my recent alienware, without a drive bay I needed something to read the occasional CD devices like quicken or those that still come physical. This meet the need and since dell owns alienware I felt compfortable. its quickly discovered and works without an issue. I'm happy with the product, but have not written any discs with it yet.

Good for Laptops with no CD/DVD drive

I don't use it often - mainly for installing software purchased on a disc, or burning the occasional CD/DVD. It hasn't given me any problems in 2 years. Can be a bit noisy when a disc is actually inserted and spins up.

CD/DVD drive

This came in really handy. Its quiet and easy to use just plug and play its that simple. If your laptop didnt come with a cd drive and u need one for your old school dvds and music cds you cant go wrong with dell.

This worked immediately with window 10. Downloaded the correct drive right away. In 2 minutes I was Installing the program I needed from the DVD drive.I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking fro an external DVD player/recorder

That’s why I bought this. Good speed (I use it for putting music cds on my computer to save from purchasing on iTunes). It takes a few minutes for each CD but it does what I need it to do. I’m satisfied.

It also does a great job playing back movies to your computer screen..although not BlueRay
