They are inexpensive and a great accessory to a laptop. I have used this to download software as well as watch a dvd and couldn’t be happier. Finally, this is so light that it is easily packed when traveling.

I needed a CD/DVD drive to go along with an ultrabook I recently purchased, and this fit my needs perfectly. I plugged it in, and it worked as expected. Simple and effective. Recommended!

I wish I had made this my first purchase. i attempted to go the least expensive route, and ordered a unit, I won't reveal the brand name via Amazon, and was so disappointed when my laptop was not able to recognize the drive. just a complete waste of time. I have a Dell laptop, and should have just stayed in the 'family'!

It grieved me to not be able to play some of my favorite CD's on my new computer and now I'm happy again!

The drive was picked up and worked right away. Even though it says Dell on it, it will work with any computer that supports external optical drives.

I saw this online. It is definitely plug and play, very simple to use, and reasonably priced. And I am happy that I got my data back.

So I got this external drive that can always be used even when I get another laptop. The unit works great and has read every disc I have fed it. It is cheap, reliable, and does not require external power.
