We needed to have our main computer repaired and wanted to make sure we had all of our data backed up in case the computer had to be reset to factory settings.

Great Product

It's great to have one of these around the house for the occasional software purchased that comes on disc that you need to load to several laptops.

Great DVD+/- RW Drive

I would definitely recommend purchasing, to friends and family. I like it!!

A Little Slow, but works OK

It connected right away, with WIndows 10 on the laptop and Windows 7 on the desktop. Data transfer rate is slower than the built-in drives on my desktop and old laptop, but it works well enough to use to install software on my new Lenovo laptop, which is why I bought it.

Love the DELL DW316 as an external CD/DVD player

Since most computers do not come with CD/DVD player, this is a must for recording and burning CD's or watching a movie.

It works great with my Dell laptop.
