There is a lot to like about the new Dell G2524H Gaming Monitor. Overall, it’s a cost effective, 24.5” stylish anti-glare display, with up to a 280hz refresh rate at 1080p resolution (no HDR). The IPS LCD display is very good, especially for viewing on angles, where it maintains color integrity. And so far, all my games ran extremely smoothly. Assembly was simple and intuitive. And no tools require! The one-page quick guide may not be needed by most users, but it’s included for the rest of us who feel a need to follow instructions. Users will have to download the PDF manual for detailed features and functionality, but that’s pretty standard these days. Very well packaged for shipping too. Excellent adjustable viewing angles (rotate, tilt, up and down) in portrait and landscape use. Heavy duty compact weighted base, that can support the display, without fear of tipping over. You have the option of forgoing the supplied base and use with a 100x100mm VESA mount. Numerous inputs and outputs to satisfy most users. Plus, it comes with an array of cables for most any connectivity option. Not having embedded speakers keeps the price low, although a headphone output jack would have been a convenient bonus. The rear panel has a D-PAD for navigating the display’s menus and numerous options and user adjustable settings. There are also 4 other “shortcut” buttons that could be helpful for some, but not really needed. The main power button is somewhat hidden on lower right-hand bottom bezel. BOTTOM LINE: The Dell G2524H is an economy gaming monitor, lacking a few minor features/options, that should satisfy a lot of users on limited budgets and others that are a tad frugal with their funding. Overall, a solid 4-Star Rating for what it is. And I would recommend to other after they read Dell’s website complete specs, along with a few other user reviews.

I did not plan on buying a gaming monitor; it keeps blacking out on me while it is searching for something, probably some type of gaming device, which of course, as a 75 year old woman, I do not have or want. I only stated that I wanted the cheapest monitor for my Surface Pro (which was the oldest one they had access to last summer, as I didn't need anything fancy).

Bought this monitor brand new and within 2 hours it started having black lines throughout the screen. Thought it was my PC but unplugged and plugged into my other monitor and there was no problem. Even did clean install of all drivers. Ended up returning it next day.

Great monitor on PC, caution on console usage

On the whole, this is a great monitor with strong performance / value overall - but it's not perfect for all use cases. Is it right for you? Read on to find out! At first glance, this monitor seems like a worthy competitor in the "25" 1080P gaming screeen" market - where it squarely looks to target the likes of the Samsung Odyssey G4 which has similar specs but a much higher price. The Dell packs a gorgeous 25" Fast IPS panel (up to 280Hz, though in practice most devices might only see up to 240Hz depending on your connectors/cables) into a slim chassis with great viewing angles, solid brightness, good out of the box color, VESA mounting and a sturdy stand that allows for lots of adjustment (including movement to portrait mode). These are all specs roughly shared with the Samsung G4. Connectivity is good with HDMI and 2 DisplayPort connectors, plus the ability to serve as a USB hub (USB-A only, and this option doesn't transfer video). You get serviceable cables out of the box - USB-B to USB-A for the hub, DisplayPort and USB-C to DisplayPort) - though I'd have liked to see an HDMI cable as well. Setting up the screen is easy / quick and doesn't require any tools. Adjustment is also easy and tool free and the buttons/OSD are easy to use and have a lot of options. Windows immediately recognized the screen and let me crank it up to 240Hz and enable G-Sync in my nvidia options. All of it worked flawlessly and the picture is great without any adjustments at all (though you may tweak to your heart's content of course). So all good right? Well, mostly. The lack of an HDMI cable is a hint at what this monitor is REALLY aimed at - that being the laptop / desktop crowd, NOT the console / "use a monitor as a TV" crowd. HDR is NOT supported - which is ok for me as I actually prefer to not use it anyhow - but the real gap here (IMPORTANT) is that there are no speakers and no audio output of any kind. while this isn't a problem for the for laptops that have their own speakers or desktops that have their own audio outs, it means if you attempt to hook up a console to it, you won't get sound (unless your console supports bluetooth and you get sound that way or you use another solution like an audio extractor/optical audio, if supported). The competing Samsung G4 DOES support HDR10 and, while it has no speakers, has an audio output jack allowing for external speakers. This is a significant omission on Dell's part and something I'd like to see changed in the next version. That said, I do actually prefer this Dell monitor to the competition. Outside of some "ventilation" looking texture on the back, there's no gamer asthetic and this monitor is much slimmer without all the unneeded plastic that the competition has. It saves a LOT on the price (MSRP to MSRP) by removing extra features you (mostly - audio jack aside) won't need and packing in a great panel which is what matters and a solid stand. It's well-built and should last through many gaming sessions. Provided you have another way to get audio out of your source device, this is a great monitor and I can highly recommend it!

    Awesome gaming monitor with GSync!

Dell monitors have always generally been among the top and this monitor is certainly no exception. It's responsive and even though it's a gaming monitor the colors and brightness are perfect for everyday use and gaming. You can of course tune the picture to your taste but I found that it's ready out of the box and seems Dell sets them up as part of testing to make sure they offer a great picture without any tweaking. For connectivity, you get an HDMI port, two Display Ports and a USB port (that enables connection to the ports on the bottom of the display which also have charging capability). I really like that this monitor has charging for USB as I can charge my mouse or headset and no longer have to hunt down a charging capable port on my PC. In addition, Dell included a USB-C to DP cable, which is awesome, so now not only is it connected to my desktop but I can also connect my laptop or tablet with ease for a larger display. I do wish it had USB-C connectivity so that it could take advantage of USB connectivity for a Keyboard/mouse but that's easily solved with a cheap USB C docking hub. As for gaming, this display is very responsive with no tearing and no noticeable lag on my gaming setup. The picture is great, with blacks being black and colors good but not overly saturated or exaggerated as some gaming monitors tend to be. The motion on a connected Nvidia card at the 240hz refresh rate makes for a buttery smooth picture and I can say if you have yet to take the leap to try a high refresh rate monitor even in just windows not gaming, you'll be shocked at what a difference it really makes. Overall, I'm impressed with this display and the features Dell included. I'd recommend this one for sure!

Dell Monitors Are One of the Best!

We have one of these monitors already but I got another one for my daughter to have dual screens. Currently she has another company’s screen, which is comparable in specs and price, but that’s all it is comparable to. The Dell G2524H blows it out of the water! Having a side-by-side comparison made it easy to choose the Dell. Although she rarely uses the monitors to their full capability, my daughter says that the crispness of the display reduces eye strain and fatigue when working on projects for long periods of time. The true colors that are displayed make them conducive to her graphic art designs. And while she does not max out these screens with what she does on them, they provide a lot of power, inputs and outputs that will make these monitors future-proof for some time to come. Having multiple inputs with HDMI and Display Ports, allows the user to have two different setups for two completely different devices. And, if you are into gaming, the 240Hz refresh rate is awesome! AND you can overclock to 280 to squeeze a little more out of this display! If desk space is at a premium, fear not! The foot for the monitor stand is quite small without compromising stability. The monitor also has a 100x100mm VESA mount if you want to mount in on monitor arms. All in all this monitor is a user friendly, easy to setup and use, rockstar! And at this price point, why not buy two…. Or three… or… well you get the point. Highly recommended.

    Default offering kind of hazy

This monitor has a lot of things going for it, including: -Exceptionally small bezel except for the bottom where the Dell logo sits -Some nice gaming specific functionality, like tracking Frames Per Second (FPS) -All the cables you could possibly need -USB ports for your peripherals -Adjust height and tilt for more than most monitors I've come across -Nvidia software picked it up without an issue, taking full advantage of G-Sync -I couldn't find a game that caused any issues on this monitor (Baldurs Gate 3, 20 Minutes Til Dawn, 7 Days to Die, Steamworld Build) But there are downsides: -As a secondary monitor, or if you're limited on space, I think you'd be OK with the 25" size, but most gamers nowadays are probably going to want a larger monitor -Gaming specific functionality is nice, but there's easier ways to check your FPS if you are running any game via Steam (for example) -And I'm not sure why but the picture in general just looks hazy to me, especially when compared to my HP Omen. I haven't touched any of the out of the box settings on the Omen, but I've had to fiddle with brightness, etc to do my best to eliminate that haze. It mostly looks fine now that I've done some tweaking, but I'm not sure why I had to (never have before). In case anyone needs to know - this is via DisplayPort.

I ordered to replace an older unit that I’ve had for a while that wasn’t really ideal for gaming. The color on this is miles apart from my existing unit. You can fully customize the display with several presets already loaded. I like the option with the more bluish screen because it doesnt hurt your eyes as much with extended game play. There are multiple connections including HDMI and DVI for inputs. I like that the height is very adjustable to fit your setup. I have my monitors sitting on a raised platform on my desktop and it was easy to match the height of my other monitor. There are also USB inputs under the left side of the monitor that can be used for charging other devices and I think as a USB hub. The monitor is very lightweight and easy to setup. Setup is not unlike other monitors on the market, so it shouldn’t be difficult at all. I’ve played several high res PC games on it and the refresh rate makes game play so much better. That should not be an underrated feature of this monitor. So far I am extremely happy with this monitor and would highly recommend it.

great priced gaming monitor w/ 24.5" viewable, and ability to overclock up to 280Hz makes this, one to check out This monitor feels fast, and response times seem decent. The colors aren't too bad, and fine tuning the settings was a breeze (changed overclock to Max, response time to Fast, and dark stabilizer to 2). features: 280Hz Overclocked (adjustable 250-280Hz) Low Blue Light Technology FreeSync / G-Sync Compatible 2 Display Ports (1.4)[280Hz] 1 HDMI Port(1.4)[120Hz] 1 Gen 1 USB-B 3.2 upstream port & 2 Gen 1 USB A 3.2 downstream ports includes 3 cables (6 ft. DisplayPort, 3.3 ft USB-C to DisplayPort, 6 ft- 3.2 Gen1 upstream) Overall this is a solid gaming monitor, maxing out at 280Hz overclocked, with a little fine tuning this monitor performs pretty well. 1080p allows for faster FPS, so add that plus 280Hz, and at a great price point makes this a winner in my book 1080p for games like cod being able to push 200+ frames makes for a much more enjoyable time I would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable gaming monitor to give this one a serious look. For the features and cost alone it's at the top of the list.

For the target person looking at this monitor, a budget friendly gaming monitor I think this hit all the right cords… besides not having an HDMI cord in the box. Games look crisp and lag free, the color is excellent, and the stand is adjustable. This last feature is a large plus in my book as now I don’t have pile books or buy an adjustable stand for it. It may not come with an HDMI cable but it does have an HDMI port which to me is a lot more useful than the Display port to USB C as if you don’t have the right USB C port on your laptop and if your looking for budget friendly stuff you may very well not your refresh rate will be limited. If you have a have a Thunderbolt USB C port then you’ll love that it has this option though I wish it had gone all the way and not had a separate USB A for the USB ports as well. But if you need one more USB port this is an option for getting a spare. Overall, it’s a great simple monitor with a few nice features, that will make your games look awesome while looking pretty slick itself.

I'm keepiing this review short and to the point. Setup was easy, once you attach the base it is pretty much plug and play. I want to note that since I have a PC that is starting to age, I had to use an HDMI cable which wasn't included. There were three other wires provided, but I couldn't use them. They will be used when my machine gets upgraded in the future. I did change the refresh rate a couple of times for testing purposes. One issue I had is that there was no manual provided, I figured out everything on my own. If I really needed the manual, I would have to go through the hassle of going to Dell's website and look everything up Quality at 1080p is excellent. The brightness, colors and sharpness is on point. The refresh rate and response time is phenominal. My nephew mentioned the viewing angle was great when he was here playing, that is not something I normally pay attention to, but I'll take his word for it. There are really no major cons that I can think of so I'm giving this monitor five stars.

Dell Gaming Monitor - Great monitor better support

This is a really great gaming monitor. Screen is beautiful with great color reproduction. They is next to 0 lag in anything. If you are contemplating. Pull the trigger. Why? Support. I would normally go into detail about specs, performance and menus. But I will share a story on this one. The delivery company, begins with a F and ends with X, was nice enough to drop the monitor as they got it out of the truck. I saw this on the video from my doorbell a few days later when reviewing the recordings. We set the monitor up, powered it on and was quite impressed the moment it was connected to the PC. Absolutely gorgeous. Until about 30 minutes later. A red line came about 2/3 of the way down the screen. We powered it down and disconnected from the PC. Tried another display port cable and things seemed fine. The next day, the line was back. So I contacted support. I informed them of the issue, that we tried changing cables, updated drivers, downloaded drivers from Dells site and that noticed the line was still there even when not connected to the PC. Support asked me to send some info and pictures of the screen. They also requested I run a monitor self test. I sent pictures of that as well. The last thing they wanted was a hand written note with the current date, my name beside the serial number barcode on the back of the monitor. I expected a week or more to get the replacement. Support said it may be a couple days before it was approved the the new monitor sent out. This was on Monday. We had the replacement in hand on and connected on Thursday. I boxed up the original monitor and shipped it back the same day. This time F----X did not play basketball with the monitor. I watched them deliver it that time. Supposedly a signature was required, but I never signed for anything. Dells support was top notch. We communicated thru their chat feature on the support site. The images were uploaded once to a link sent to me and attached in the chat with the follow up requests. The entire process took about 15 minutes, most of that was running through the self test and taking pictures. We have had the monitor a week now and it is so easy on the eyes. Definitely a great buy. Not every company has support that actually treats you as well as Dell does. Let alone doesn't make you jump thru unneeded hoops to get a replacement.

The Dell 25 Gaming Monitor - G2524H is a 24.5" monitor with up to 280Hz overclocked refresh rate on a fast IPS panel for a smooth gaming experience. Setting up the monitor is a breeze. Opening the box, you are greeted with the monitor base, power cord and display cables. Underneath the top layer of shipping packaging, you will find the monitor and stand arm. Assembling the monitor could not be easier. First, you connect the monitor base to the display stand and tighten the locking bolt with your hand, no tools needed. Next, you connect the display stand to the back of the monitor and snap together. That's it. Now you are ready to connect the power cord and display cable to your favorite gaming device. Once the display is powered on, you can review all the included features by pressing the 3 buttons on the right-hand side on the back of the monitor. At the top of the feature buttons is a mini joystick control to navigate through the selections.
