Don't buy this gaming laptop of you plan to play g

I feel like crap that my son's first gaming computer, which he received as a gift, crashes several times a day and gives him the blue screen of death. I've spent week over 10 hours on the phone and chat with dell. They've tried numerous things and finally told me that they have no clue what is causing it but that it is a software issue. If course, software issue are not covered under the warranty. I now have a $1200 gaming laptop that can't play basic roblox. How pathetic. And to do it off, dell had told me to kick rocks. If you actually plans to play games on this gaming laptop, don't buy it.

Almost good

Great laptop poor construction.

They break often and it seems to be a design flaw mine lasted 10 months. Dell plays it off as mishandling of the laptop even though there is countless others with the exact same issue.

Thanks for your review. We're sorry to hear that your computer stopped working for you. We'd recommend following these steps to see if your computer will start up for you again:
1. If the computer is displaying the Dell logo and does not move past that point, it has probably failed POST.
2. If the power indicator lights up and it is amber or orange, this is usually an indicator that it has failed POST.
3. If you see text on a black screen, the computer is currently performing the POST. If the computer stays in that condition and does not move past it, it has probably failed POST.
4. If the video screen displayed anything at all during the startup process but is now black, this probably indicates that the computer failed POST.
5. If the computer is beeping or if Caps/Num/Scroll Locks are flashing, note if there is a particular pattern in which it beeps or flashes.
6. If the computer is not beeping and caps/num/scroll locks are not flashing, unplug all connections and remove all media communication devices (e.g. external monitors); reconnect one at a time and check if the computer functions.
7. For a notebook, press and hold the Fn key and then press the power button. This starts the pre-boot testing and will launch ePSA. In case you have a Desktop at the Dell logo screen tap the F12 key to enter One Time Boot Menu and use the arrow keys to highlight Diagnostics and press enter.

Too heavy

The only way to get it back on is to let the battery drain. I dont know which one is the heaviest the laptop or the battery adapter. Not suited for traveling.

Absolutely Awful

I had nothing but issues with the thermals on this computer since the moment I bought it and it would cause the fans to randomly kick on pretty consistently during light load usage. I even got a replacement at one point and that one had the same issue. Finally, in less than a year of owning this laptop, one of the fans broke and I am left with the decision of repairing an awful laptop (that will likely break again) or just simply buying a different one... I would like to add, however, that the laptop did perform well on games, video streaming, and also handled modeling softwares with ease.

SOLD REFURBISHED SAYING ITS A NEW ONE

I was starting school so went to buy a new laptop. After 1 year the laptop hinge broke which caused damage to my screen and luckily I had it under warranty, dell was great in getting it fixed completely without any extra cost. Exactly after 1 year, I faced the same issue when I called dell and tried to know the details they informed me that my laptop is a refurbished one. BestBuy cheated me by saying it's a new laptop and sold me for the price of a new laptop and it giving me trouble every now and then.
