    Horrendous experience... Waited two weeks for this "excellent condition" laptop. Received the laptop in plastic package; literally, without box, just the laptop and charging cable. The laptop was in rather poor condition. It was damaged appearance-wise. when I tried to set up the laptop, the keyboard isn't working properly and there was no mouse cursor on the screen. Called customer service on the phone, they can't provide a replacement since there is no more inventory. Very upsetting cause I missed out on all the good deals during labor weekend and I am stuck now with no laptop.

    This laptop beagan giving me issues in the 1st hour after unboxing it. Wifi card was bad. Replace one had same issue. 2nd replacement had issues right after geeksquqd did a memory upgrade to 1 tera bite. Now theres no power receiving fron the charging cable. With means theres a short somewhere in laptop. Its going to be shipped to kentucky where geeksquad central is located. One headache after another. My 13 son needs it for school and other activities.

    Purchased this Computer and almost immediately started having problems with it overheating. Took it in so the Geek Squad could repair or replace it. They have had it for over 2 weeks now with no real prospect of when I can expect it back. When I called to Inquire about it the best suggestion the guy could offer was that I buy a new computer and then return it after I get the original back.

    buyer beware on open box

    so far this open box purchase has been a nightmare. the thing randomly powers down or winks out and cannott get the issue to duplicate when i bring it in while still under the warranty. I dont think i will purchase again from best buy as they refuse to stand behind the issues their product came with

    I won't say is a bad laptop, but the cooling system is horrible and thanks to that i tend to crash while gaming.

      1. Update your computer BIOS to the latest version available
      • Browse to the Dell Drivers & Downloads page:
      • Ensure you have selected the correct Operating System
      • Under Category, choose BIOS
      • Locate the latest System BIOS
      • Click Download and save the file to your PC
      • Open File Explorer and browse to the location where you saved the downloaded file
      • Double-click the BIOS setup file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process
      2. Open Alienware Command Center
      3. Click Thermal at the Active Default Theme and set it to Performance
      4. Restart the computer
      5. Once the computer boots into Windows open SupportAssist
      6. Go to the Troubleshooting tab and click on I want to check a specific piece of hardware
      7. Click CPU under CPU Devices
      8. Select CPU Stress Test and click Run Test
      9. Open the Alienware Command Center and go to the Fusion tab
      • The CPU peak temperature should be less than or equal to (≤) 100 ℃

    Worst piece of garbage to ever be made. I couldnt wait to get another laptop so I was pressured by a sales associate to purchase this one. Upon booting, I recieved multiple errors from the bloatwear preinstalled and when I tried to upgrade the laptop with more ram dedicatedly made for that laptop, it wouldnt even fire up. Its safe to say Ill never purchase from this company again.

    Overheated and cracked the plastic and screen about to come off and the charger to easy to break

    This would have a negative 10 if possible. The charging cord it came with broke within 5 months. The one del replaced it with because of my Geek Squad was not strong enough to charge it. I guess sending the computer back with it’s charger was against their computer. IDK! so my computer issue didn’t get resolved because Del had cheap power cords.

    Froze and restarted for every game I played, including League of Legends, Fall Guys, and Overwatch. I returned it 13 days after purchasing. Just bought the Acer Nitro 5, and it seems to be working much better.

    The Dell - G5 15.6" Gaming Laptop - AMD Ryzen 5 - 8GB Memory - AMD Radeon RX 5600M - 256GB Solid State Drive has many crashes. Sudden stops began a week after shipment. Best Buy did not honor the return because it was 6 days past the 14 day return policy. Definitively will not buy a product at Besbuy, and will not recommend anyone to buy any electronic device from Bestbuy either.

      1. At the desktop, click the Search the web and Windows box and type "problem reports".
      2. Select View all problem reports to view a list of errors that have occurred on your computer and possible solutions for them, such as updating drivers, flashing your system BIOS, or checking for updates to the software.
      3. Under the Source column, look for Windows and under Summary, look for Shut down unexpectedly.
      4. Right-click the line item and select Check for a solution.

    Well Best Buy wanted my review pretty badly so here goes. The Dell G5 is fine but if you buy anything from Best Buy don't give them your email or they will spam you over 100 times each month. Best Buy leaves me with no option but to mark them as spam and switch to paperless.

    I bought this out-of-the-box laptop hoping to get a "good bargain", but I was pretty disappointed. The system would lock up and sometimes the computer would reboot itself in the middle of some pretty simple tasks. I traded it in for a more suitable purchase for my needs.

    The HDMI port never worked. Screen shots hardly works. It's a waste of money. Geek Squad said since I didn't buy protection there was nothing they could do. When playing games, most times the page shuts down by itself.
