I only had steam and dota 2 installed, it lagged so badly, can't play at all. I checked the ping, it was 29ms, so I am sure it was not the internet. I also rebooted the computer but kept having the same problem. I am guessing, probably because it is small and the cooling system/fan could not handle the i7 10th gen processor or 2070 RTX graphics, I don't know, it is just sooooo bad that I had to return it the next day.

We're sorry to hear about the temperature concerns that you had with your new laptop. In the future we'd recommend the following steps to help cool down the temperature of your gaming laptop:
1. Update your computer BIOS to the latest version available
• Browse to the Dell Drivers & Downloads page:
• Ensure you have selected the correct Operating System
• Under Category, choose BIOS
• Locate the latest System BIOS
• Click Download and save the file to your PC
• Open File Explorer and browse to the location where you saved the downloaded file
• Double-click the BIOS setup file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process
2. Open Alienware Command Center
3. Click Thermal at the Active Default Theme and set it to Performance
4. Restart the computer
5. Once the computer boots into Windows open SupportAssist
6. Go to the Troubleshooting tab and click on I want to check a specific piece of hardware
7. Click CPU under CPU Devices
8. Select CPU Stress Test and click Run Test
9. Open the Alienware Command Center and go to the Fusion tab
• The CPU peak temperature should be less than or equal to (≤) 100 ℃
• When under high stress, the computer's average temperature can be expected to be less than (≤) 100 ℃.

DON’T BUY READ FIRST

But it really wasn’t it was the worst on the market. When you have a high end gaming laptop that almost costs $2,000 but in the end doesn’t run games and crashes a lot not worth it. When I bought this laptop I thought I’m getting something good. something that at least let me play games on 80+ At 1080p resolution. But actually I tried to play rocket league on the lowest settings 720p resolution. The laptop couldn’t handle it, it was running on 20-30 fps. Than the laptop crashes. I contacted dell about the issues I have. They took 4 hours just doing nothing. They don’t know what they even doing. Just looking for updates that’s all. In the end the dell support told me I have to pay $200 to fix the issues. At this point I realized it’s not worth it to pay all that and in the end I’m not getting the performance I should have been getting. So I went to Best Buy and return it. The guy asked me what’s wrong with it, I explained what I said here to him. And he said it shouldn’t be like that. Please for who ever try to buy this laptop stay out of dell they the worst.

Great laptop

I kept getting disk reader errors. When I brought it to Best Buy (after 4 months of owning the laptop they told me I could only get 1500 for it) I also purchased a 2 year protection plan for 300$ which they didn’t refund me for. Do not buy this laptop. It over heats when used for small games such as Minecraft and drops frames in games like rust and csgo.

Day two I upgraded to Windows Pro and installed MS Flight Simulator 2020 and it still ran hot at 129 degrees F. The Alienware Command Center will not open and the over clock button on the keyboard does nothing. Dell was not able to fix over the phone so they are sending someone to the house to replace the fan and heat sink. Nothing like buying a lemon.
