This computer i use for graphic design and it works great Photos and Video. My brother games on it and the games RUN excellent.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.had some problems at first but that was because i skipped the bios update, from 1.3.5 to 1.3.7 it froze due to bios hardware issues on the old. but when i did it the machine works perfect and no freezes. note to all do the update when it asks after first boot . it has enhancements for stability which was overlooked but addressed in bios update. this is a beast for a base machine.

I came home from being on vacation and it was dead. Went on best buy and started looking for a computer in my price range. This is one of the ones that came up. I compared all the features with other computers and this had everything I was looking. Plenty of memory , processor speed, a processor that has a long life span. So far I couldn't be happier.

Thanks for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that the fan noise you're experiencing is noticeable as you use your computer. Here are a few tips that should help you reduce the fan noise:
A: Cleaning the Vents
1. Check the vents on the computer to see if they are covered with dust and not allowing heat and air to pass through.
2. Turn off the system.
3. Remove all power sources: Unplug the AC adapter and remove the battery, or unplug the desktop power Cord.
4. Use a compressed air can to blow the dust out of the vents. Be sure to hold the can at an upright angle (near 90 degrees), and hold it 15-20 centimeters (6-8 inches) away from the vent.
B: Update the BIOS: An out-of-date BIOS can cause loud fan noises by having an outdated temperature table for the system. Refer to update BIOS and follow the instructions to update the BIOS on your computer.

Great starter computer

The price was right and it came with the graphics card needed for rendering and gaming. The original motherboard, graphics card, and hard drive are still going strong. Everything else has been replaced for gaming purposes.

Then it would not wake up. I would have to either unplug it, or do a hard reboot. I spent many hours with Dell Support, they could not fix it. When I Google'd the problem, it seems that many other Dell customers are having the same issue.

First the fan when it hit high it would stick there after 1 week out of the box.. Was on the phone to tech support 3 times. By that time I was past 15 day return to BB. Then the sound went out. Finally got that fixed on the phone support. Mailed it in for repair for the fan. Now right after I get it back it keeps freezing (black screen) and the mouse light goes off. I told Dell I would like a new computer this is the 3rd issue in 5 months. They told me I would have had to state that within thirty day's. I said you didn't tell me that was an option. They will not take it back and give me a new one. I will never buy dell again.

If your computer is continuing to freeze on you we'd recommend these steps:
1. Run a Computer Diagnostic. To determine if your computer is experiencing a hardware problem, run the Dell Preboot System Assessment (PSA) Diagnostics. For information on how to run Diagnostics, and to determine the issue, refer to Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2iaiujA.
2. Check Safe Mode for Symptoms. To boot into safe mode, please follow the instructions below:
a) Start the computer.
b) Tap 'F8' on the keyboard immediately and every one second until the Dell logo screen disappears. From there you will see the Windows Advanced Options Menu on the screen. (If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, restart the system and try again.)
c) Select Safe mode with Networking and press Enter.
d) Log on as the administrator or as a user with administrative access.
e) Open applications and test the computer in safe mode. If the symptoms exist in safe mode, please continue the troubleshooting steps in this article. If the symptoms do not exist in safe mode, the issue is likely related to a driver or software and you may wish to complete steps 6 to see if you are able to resolve the lockups or freezing.
6. Check for Malware. Malware (Virus, Spyware, etc.) can definitely cause a Windows system to lock up or appear to hang. To check for malware on your system and to ensure that your computer is up to date on security software, visit Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2wWP1zI.

Bad, crashed, too loud

Randomly the system would just freeze in the middle of even checking email. Sometimes the fans would ramp up and just be loud for no reason as well. Like literally, I would just turn this thing on and it would be idle on the desktop...and suddenly the jet engines start! It wasn't bad performance wise. It just had bugs. Overall, this particular system was bad. Maybe I got a defective unit? Took it back as well and went with something else. I'd still go with Dell products overall, just not this one after the experience with this model.

However, I had nothing but problems with it since I took it out of the box. Every time the monitor would turn off I would have to hold the power button to turn the computer off and turn it back on to get back in. I even called Dell and experienced the worst customer service ever. I ended up bringing this computer back. Do not by this computer.
