Customers are saying

Customers regard the Inspiron Desktop's performance, price, and graphics capabilities very favorably, with many citing its suitability for gaming and its affordability. However, some users experienced issues with excessive fan noise and difficulties with the system's sleep mode functionality. The positive feedback on performance and value is frequently offset by concerns about the system's noise levels.

It was a good price for a gaming pc and it had some good reviews at both dell and best buy. Unfortunately, for the two days that I had it it crashed five times and there were driver and windows updates that wouldn't install properly. I ended up returning it for a different pc.

Absolutely worst dell product, crashes every 5min-2hrs, dell genius support was to update everything, which didn’t fix the problem at all, added 8gbs of memory and still crashed every few minutes. I returned it with no hassle to BB, saved up and bought the Alienware aurora 7 out of the box and it is working like how the Inspiron should’ve in the first place.

I bought an open box item thinking that it would be as good as a new one. I thought the geek squad would of checked the computer. I was wrong in a very bad way. The hard drive is bad and windows will not load on it. I have to buy a new drive to use the computer..

So after I tried every software fix I gave up and took it back to the store, but they said to come back the following day instead. To my surprise 99 percent of the problems were solved I plug it back in, but it still froze on me. If you having problems after DL all driver, unplug for a bit. Its heavy one.

      Hello Emangutu,

We're sorry to hear about the issues that you had with your Dell Desktop. If you run into issues with your computer freezing in the future we'd recommend troubleshooting the issue with the following steps:

      1. Run a Computer Diagnostic. To determine if your computer is experiencing a hardware problem, run the Dell Preboot System Assessment (PSA) Diagnostics. For information on how to run Diagnostics, and to determine the issue, refer to Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2iaiujA.
      2. Check Safe Mode for Symptoms. To boot into safe mode, please follow the instructions below:
      a) Start the computer.
      b) Tap 'F8' on the keyboard immediately and every one second until the Dell logo screen disappears. From there you will see the Windows Advanced Options Menu on the screen. (If the Windows Advanced Options Menu does not appear, restart the system and try again.)
      c) Select Safe mode with Networking and press Enter.
      d) Log on as the administrator or as a user with administrative access.
      e) Open applications and test the computer in safe mode. If the symptoms exist in safe mode, please continue the troubleshooting steps in this article. If the symptoms do not exist in safe mode, the issue is likely related to a driver or software and you may wish to complete steps 6 to see if you are able to resolve the lockups or freezing.
      6. Check for Malware. Malware (Virus, Spyware, etc.) can definitely cause a Windows system to lock up or appear to hang. To check for malware on your system and to ensure that your computer is up to date on security software, visit Dell Knowledge Base Article: http://dell.to/2wWP1zI.

I should have read the review before purchasing and saved myself 40 hours of labor trying to keep the computer from restarting on its own or freezing. I updated everything, even reached out to Dell tech support. They had me redo the updates which only made it worse. Honestly it had me in tears after spending so much of my priceless free time frustrated. I was in the return period still and promptly returned it. I learned my lesson the hard way and will always read and pay more attention to the reviews. This needs to be taken off the market or fixed by Dell.

It sucks sooooooo bad, just like all the reviews that say it freezes and locks up. Well believe those reviews, because that is exactly what this PC will do if you buy it. I was skeptical at first even though I read them, never again will I buy a Dell, even if they have a good deal like this. This deal is more like a trap, I think they know this thing sucks and that's why the price is so attractive. Pull them off the shelves!

I bought this pc as a cheap gaming rig for my boyfriend, and we only had it for a couple months and the HDD started to fail, the computer only had 2 games ever installed, was mostly used for those games and youtube honestly. We started to notice the computer booted slow and slower every day, we even wiped it and started it fresh, no games on install nothing. Still was running slower than ever, then one day boom HDD failed. Bought an SSD fixed the issue until the gpu decided to go. None the less its what 6 months later or so? the computer is just a giant paperweight. Biggest waste of money ever.

Games won't run at 120fps or anything but it handles games on medium quality like a champ, but the selling point is the quality of the build.

The cooling fans are incredibly loud and annoying. It's hard to believe Dell would make something like this and that Best Buy would sell it. I was also disappointing to discover that the computer does not have an LED indicating that there is hard drive activity.

      Hello eewoz,

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that the fan noise is louder than you expected it to be on your new computer. We'd recommend the following steps to update the BIOS on your computer which has helped most users notice a difference in the fan noise:

      Update the BIOS:

An out-of-date BIOS can cause loud fan noises by having an outdated temperature table for the system. Refer to update BIOS and follow the instructions to update the BIOS on your computer.

You can also follow up with our Technical Support Team here - 1-800-624-9896.

We hope this helps your computer run smoother for you.
