The IPS panel delivers wide viewing angles, but unfortunately, this comes at the expense of contrast. It has an excellent response time.

I'm sick of LCD mfgs that keep releasing products that whine. I've had two TVs that whined and now this Dell monitor.

Its an IPS panel for great viewing angle, I use a multi display setup and am looking at the side monitors angled toward me. This has a bright and clear image when viewing from the side. The front bezel is super tiny and looks identical to my Dell Ultrasharp series. Picture quality is great and text is sharp and easy to read. I don't game so won't comment on those aspects but for CAD this is great, seems to be on par with the Ultrasharp for quality. Only complaint I have would be the price, seems to be about $100 more then I would expect to pay, wait for a sale.

The contrast is a bit average for this price point, but meets my expectation. My unit doesn’t have any backlight bleeding, which is quite a surprise to me considering Dell isn’t known for good quality controls. My previous Dell 32 inch monitor has the worst backlight bleeding in all the monitors I have ever had, but I didn’t blame Dell since that one has a VA panel, which gives better contrast but also worse backlight unity.
