Customers are saying

Customers are satisfied with the S3220DGF monitor's screen size, refresh rate, and resolution, frequently praising its suitability for gaming and work. Many appreciate the monitor's quality, HDR capabilities, and FreeSync technology, although some noted the absence of built-in speakers and the monitor's weight as drawbacks. A few users reported issues with dead pixels or ghosting, but these concerns were less prevalent than positive feedback. The curved screen is also a feature that many users enjoyed.

Purchased to replace my 10 year old 24 inch BenQ VA panel which was on its last legs. From multiple positive online reviews I already knew that gaming and QHD video quality was very good and compared favorably with monitors costing twice as much, but I was a bit concerned about text sharpness and color-accuracy. Bottom line I needn't have worried. While its not going to replace my professional grade Dell 24 inch IPS panel for photo editing color accuracy is fine nad text on websites and documents is every bit as sharp as the IPS.

Went from a 24 in 144hz 1080p monitor to this bad boy. Wow what a difference. Was able to snag it on sale and I am in love. Gives games a whole new feeling with the ultrawide. Just wish I had two of them to pair up. It has all the features as in more expensive monitors except the response time is higher at 4ms and while it is freesync compatible , it is not technically gsync compatible. It will run with gsync but there are some issues. You can google these though. The HDR in Windows is a mess, but not at fault of the monitor. Some tweaking was needed out of the box, but again you can google these and find what settings you like the most.

I bought this monitor twice. The first one went to sleep after my first day of use and never woke up! BestBuy return was as easy as can be. Waited to re-order until it went on sale. Image quality is very good but not exceptional, for the cost that was anticipated. I use predominantly for work at my home office in a single monitor setup. This comes close to a dual monitor setup, but generally speaking for work you’d be more productive with dual 24” or 27” monitors. That said if you take a little time to partition off the screen you can efficiently use multiple applications at once. The 2560x1440 resolution gives a lot of pixels to work with, pretty sweet for intensive applications that require a lot of real estate, Excel spreadsheets, Revit/AutoCAD, etc. I like the curve with this size, it immerses you in the screen. I considered an ultra wide monitor but the cost is prohibitive compared to a dual monitor setup that I didn’t want and for a single monitor setup this 32” gives more vertical real estate without eating up as much desk space. Very nice stand as well. Happy with this purchase.

I stepped down from an LG 4k to 1440p. OMG! I have an EVGA 2070s and i5-9600k. What. a. crazy. difference. 165hz makes! With g-sync enabled, everything at 1440p maxed is just butter smooth, crystal clear depending on game, 165fps and some dipping down to 135fps, but at those speeds, if I didn't have a fps meter running I wouldn't know the frames dropped down. And HDR, amazing colors and contrast. Best purchase I've made in a long time. I took the 4k to my office where it's doing a great job there, but for home browsing, steaming, and especially gaming, this monitor is a wow factor 10.

I hate curved monitors. They do not appeal to me in the slightest. This one, however, does not have an aggressive curve. It's subtle, but nice. The display is nice.

This monitor in Dell's recent line in high refresh rate monitors is great. Normally not a fan of the curved monitor style, but this monitor has hit a sweet spot in it's size, resolution, and its display quality. I won't say I'll never use a normal monitor again, but it would have to really blow this one out of the water for me. Colors look great, the brightness lends itself well to HDR output, but can be too bright for daily driving use, so dim it down to save your eyes.

Great gaming monitor for the price. Sturdy build and great color with HDR. I use this with my PC. I'd recommend 1440p over 4K for gaming to hit those higher frame rates.

Two out of three of the monitors I've owned over the last ten years have been Dell. They've both been excellent screens that served me well, and were only replaced as significant upgrades to gaming performance. With that history in mind, I was really surprised when I ended up returning this display. It does have it's good points. Color looks great, especially in HDR, the curve feels organic and natural, the size adds a lot to immersion, motion is shockingly smooth for a VA panel, it had no dead pixels, and I really liked the inclusion of an FPS tracker option to the monitor. Almost everything about the monitor also felt exceptionally high quality, too, just like my previous Dell displays. However, none of that makes up for the large backlight bleeds it had. They looked like spotlights in the sky, criss crossing toward the top and bottom, one several inches from each corner and bleeding into the one across from it. What's frustrating is that I could have worked around them by keeping the backlight low, but that would have meant never using one of the primary features that motivated me to buy this monitor. That brings me to my second major problem with this otherwise great monitor. The HDR on this screen maxes out the monitor brightness automatically, and locks you out of it so you can't adjust it. In bright games that'd be fine, but in darker games, such as The Medium, it looked awful. The spotlights were in full effect, and could no longer be adjusted away. I'm not sure why they made this design choice, but it was not a good one. Even without the bleeds it'd have looked bad in darker environments because VA panels have a significant glow when the backlight is high. This one is no exception. The HDR issue on its own I probably could have lived with. It's not a TV, so it doesn't have full array local dimming. Only one monitor I know of does, so it's hard to hold that against an otherwise great display. However, the bleeds killed it for me. I understand they vary between panels and I could have given it another shot, but something has changed since the last time I bought a gaming monitor. Newer TVs have since come out that have better and better performance characteristics, including faster pixel response, ultra low input lag, and 120hz support. This, when hand in hand with significantly higher native contrast ratio, full array local dimming, and more developed HDR implementations makes it hard to recommend any monitor at the moment. Those factors ultimately made me decide to return this monitor and decide on something else instead of just subjecting myself to the panel lottery again. I don't blame Dell for the bleeds. Even the most expensive monitors on the market have them. It's a manufacturing variance issue that is very hard to minimize, let alone fix. I'm open to trying other Dell monitors in the future, but for now I'm moving on to an OLED screen that solves all these problems and will give me a much better experience overall.

      Hello Warren,

We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing this abnormality and apologize for the inconvenience. We recommend you diagnose your monitor to determine the severity of the issue. Provided below are instructions to do so.

      1. Make sure that the monitor screen is clean (no dust particles on the surface of the screen).
      2. Unplug the video cable(s) from the back of the monitor and the PC. The monitor should now enter self-test mode.
      3. Press and hold the menu button for 5 seconds. A gray screen should appear.
      4. Carefully inspect the screen for abnormalities.
      5. Press again. The color of the screen should now change to red.
      6. Inspect the screen for any abnormalities.
      7. Repeat Step 5 and Step 6 to inspect the screen in green, blue, black, white and text screens.
      8. The test is complete when the white screen appears.
      9. Press again to exit the built-in self test diagnostics.

If you do notice any abnormalities in the built-in self test mode, you may get the monitor repaired/replaced if it is under warranty by contacting Dell Support directly at 1-800-264-9896.
