Customers are saying

Customers are satisfied with the S3220DGF monitor's screen size, refresh rate, and resolution, frequently praising its suitability for gaming and work. Many appreciate the monitor's quality, HDR capabilities, and FreeSync technology, although some noted the absence of built-in speakers and the monitor's weight as drawbacks. A few users reported issues with dead pixels or ghosting, but these concerns were less prevalent than positive feedback. The curved screen is also a feature that many users enjoyed.

The newest version of these monitor A03 you can not use 144hz.. Only 60\120HZ for HDMI or 60\120\165HZ for Displayport . You need a new DisplayPort 1.4 cable to use high refresh rate AND freesync \ gsync. The cable that comes with monitor will cause flickering. Otherwise the Vertical Aligned pixels on the display allow for pretty decent contrast and brightness, with the trade off being a little bit more motion blur and little more limited viewing angles. The pixels density is good and the extra space for everything on the desktop looks great. Replaced two 1080p monitors! Gaming looks good and is smooth. Have not tried HDR, but don't expect anything good from HDR 400...this is not a home theater TV.

I am enjoying this monitor so far. I have been using this for 1 year now. No issue at all. I enjoy gaming in this. I connected my Series X and play FIFA or COD. The refresh rate helps to have better performance.

I am not a gamer. My daughter is and loves it. I love it for it's elegant look and it's easy to open a few programs at the same time. You can get the job done fast. The color and frame rate is really good. She plays Tomb Raider and it looks fantastic. No lag and crisp look.

Purchased for my husband to use with his laptop. He loves the curve which adds a little privacy and the size is great to hold open several windows at the same time. Plus, enhances size of document/spreadsheet for easier viewing.

I bought this on sale to replace my old Acer Predator 24" 144hz monitor and the difference in color accuracy and brightness is massive. The 32" screen is perfect for me on my desk and it works great with gsync on my PC and 1440p 120hz with Series X.

Decent monitor. Should NOT be a gaming monitor

I got this monitor a few months ago for $360 when there was a discount. The colors and resolution are way above average, even for $450 monitors. And, even better, the colors and contrast pretty much don't change when at different viewing angles. But that comes with a BIG price: Ghosting. Ghosting is where a moving object on the screen leaves a faded trace behind it. In this case, it is VERY noticable and annoying. When you scroll on a web page, all the text and words have a pink halo trail behind them. The trail is about 2 mm long depending on how fast you scroll. At the fastest i can scroll its about 2 centimeters long When you move your screen in a game, all the structures, mountains, players, and text have a pink halo trail behind them. As i am typing this review, the pink halos appear. Because of the ghosting, it is really hard to tell a difference between 144hz and 165hz. In a gaming monitor, you want a large monitor with high refresh rates, high dynamic range, and zero to no ghosting. This monitor exceeds in ALL of those areas except ghosting, which in my opinion makes this a very unfit monitor for competitive gaming. Please don't get me wrong, this is a great monitor and if ghosting is not a issue with you or if you're coming from a monitor that already has this issue then this monitor isn't so bad. But just know the ghosting can be annoying. The photos i posted are examples of the ghosting. You can see a copy of the moving subject/window. During game play, if you are moving fast enough there will be copies of players.

      TTTTTTTTTT,

Thanks for your review. We are sorry to hear about the ghosting issues that you're experiencing with your monitor so far. Ghosting may happen during fast game play when the response time is set to the fastest. This is due to excessive panel overdrive which may introduce some slight and noticeable visual artifacts into the image. For S3220DGF, the fastest response time is ‘Extreme’. To avoid ghosting, change the response time to a slower setting (‘Super Fast’ or ‘Fast’). As every system setup and every gamer’s needs are different, Dell recommends that users experiment with different modes to find the setting that is right for them.

Second purchase in a year as the existing ine works excellently. This is replacing an AOpen that i had to take back one and THAT replacement died as well so wish i had spent the extra money up front to get a quality brand.

Working from home had me upgrading my station all the way. Instead of getting a basic monitor, I went for a gaming monitor so that I could enjoy my WFH station as a gaming station too. Monitor is super easy to set up. It does not have inbuilt speakers. It has two audio outputs, headphone jack and auxiliary audio output (3.5mm jack). However, use the auxiliary audio output for speakers. Initially I used the headphones jack and I wasn't getting good sound out of my speakers. The picture is pretty good. In terms of work, the picture is crisp. For gaming, I have a PS4, it looks better on my screen than my TV. Also there isn't noticeable lag. The monitor is solid. The Dell stand supports multiple motions and makes it easy to station the screen. It's also easy to mount. I got this on a sale for around $360. I definitely recommend.

Great Overall - Horrible for Xbox One X

On Dell's homepage, it states this monitor is FreeSync 2 and can do 1440p up to 144hz via HDMI. This was definitely not my experience with it for use with an Xbox One X, no matter what I tried it would not let me select higher than 1080p at 120hz and if I did, it would disable VRR and HDR, the only way I could play with those two enabled was to upscale to 4K at 60hz. This monitor is capable of supporting the Xbox One X at 1440p, 120hz with VRR and HDR enabled, it's held back by its firmware. I waited 14 days for an update from Dell and ultimately had to return it. I bought the Gigabyte AORUS AD27QD and it immediately worked with all the aforementioned settings, no issues. The S3220DGF is a great monitor overall, held back by some poor software decisions. No way to adjust gamma settings or even set the monitor at a lower refresh, you have two options, 164hz, (vice 165hz due to GSync/VSync setting) or 60hz, no choice for anything else, like 120hz, or 144hz, you can create a custom refresh though then you'll lose the option for DSR on Nvidia cards. Fantastic response times for a VA, beautiful colors, extremely minimal color shifting etc., all held back by the software, hopefully, Dell updates the firmware at some point to address these issues. I really wanted to keep this!

Great looking monitor. Like most Dell pro screens, it feels like it is solid. Very nice picture. 10 bit color, HDR, 1440p and 165hz! Browsing internet on a curved screen this big (and nice!) is a real pleasure. User interface is simple enough.

Previously had the Dell 27" G-Sync monitor with a TN panel. Had a lot of issues with it. Didn't realize how much of a difference this VA panel gives compared to the previous TN panel that I had. Size is perfect for my desk and setup. Curve is subtle. Recommend!

    A Pleasantly Unexpected Surprise

Bought two of these by mistake thinking they were IPS panels. Firstly, I'm using these for software development and MS Office related work, not gaming (but there's always that lofty possibility if time permits). Was about to return them to the store but thought I'd give them a chance. And WOW! The VA panels were amazingly beautiful with incredibly sharp fonts. I'm keeping these now. I was able to set the Windows Display Setting at 100% Scale Layout, thereby getting more real estate than my Dell 27" (same res @2560x1440p) which had to be set at 125% (otherwise everything was really small). These 32" will also replace my Acer 38" (3840x1600) which also had to be set to 125%. I'm very happy with my screen real estate now set to 100% Scale on these dual 32" Dells. My setup is a 2016 Dell IPS 15 laptop (16GB/500GB) with the D6000 docking.

Great monitor ( very large). This monitor is a lot bigger once you get it home. It took me a while to pull the trigger on this but I love it now that its here. The only downside is the refresh rate, it wont run 165 in all applications especially with the PS. I am not sure if this is normal or not. But overall a good looking monitor.

My nephew bought it for use with Xbox series X and play games at 120Hz. When playing COD Cold War at 1440p 60hz, it has great contrast, brightness and color saturation along with HDR; however, when switching the same game to 120hz, the console lowers resolution to 1080p and doesn’t retain same contrast, brightness saturation and hdr. That’s why I gave it 4 stars. Otherwise, good value.
