Excellent monitor for Mac - with the right cable

I upgraded from a flat 27" Dell that has been going strong for a couple years with zero issues. The 32" curved screen at QHD (2560x1440), running at 165Hz on this monitor is a stunner and provides a nice balance of size, resolution and refresh rate. Final Cut Pro on this monitor is an absolute eye-saver! On my PC with a dedicated GPU, games at 165Hz are mind-blowing! They say the human eye sees smooth movement at 30-60Hz but anyone who has used a 120+Hz display will tell you there is a difference. My current primary workstation is an M1 MacBook Pro and the hub I originally started with was limited to 60Hz at QHD resolution - and even that seemed to be pushing it too hard. It was nothing glaring, but my eye caught flickers (not the monitor's fault!) that became annoying. The trick is finding a hub or cable that's advertised as supporting 4K@60Hz - I went with a USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 to Display Port cable that is therefore also capable of supporting QHD at 165Hz. With this monitor running at a butter-smooth 165Hz, everything looks amazing! Color saturation (99% sRGB means this monitor is capable of displaying nearly the entire sRGB color space) and monitor brightness are pleasing and 32" is a lot of screen real estate for older eyes. I've used this cable and monitor combo on both my MBP and a PC desktop, running each (separately of course) at 60Hz, 120 Hz, 144Hz and 165Hz and all look fantastic so my early problem was definitely the hub I started with. The right hub/cable matters at these resolutions/refresh rates! There are no USB ports or speakers on this monitor and my Mac doesn't support changing the volume on HDMI- or DP-connected displays (though there is an audio port and that works just fine passing audio on a PC desktop), so I use this monitor only as a display, but it is the perfect display for my needs. I was suspicious of using a curved display at first. I was worried about a sense of distortion but nothing feels distorted. In fact, at 32" and standard monitor distance, I think the curve really helps with visibility at the edges. Bottom line: If you need a larger screen with great color representation and a smooth refresh rate, this monitor checks all of those boxes. It's an absolute stunner for gaming, but it's also a great option for work - particularly if you edit media and need working space and accurate color.

This gamer monitor is excellent. It doesn’t have external speakers so, you will have to run a headset but, most monitors are like this. The quality of this screen is amazing. It has quick refresh time and makes for high intensity gaming to feel elite. I truly believe the side of this screen is perfect for anyone that doesn’t like to have to move their head much while playing games. Eye shifting is all you’ll have to do.

The Dell S3222DGM is a solid choice for gamers and content consumers looking for an immersive visual experience at a competitive price. With a 32-inch curved VA panel, this monitor offers deep contrast, rich colors, and a resolution of 2560x1440 (QHD), making it ideal for both gaming and multimedia use. Design and Build Quality The monitor features a sleek, minimalist design in matte black that blends well with most setups. The curved screen (1800R) adds an extra layer of immersion, especially in fast-paced games. The stand is sturdy and allows for tilt adjustment, although it lacks height or swivel options, which could be a downside for some users. Performance Where this monitor really shines is in its performance. With a 165Hz refresh rate and a 1ms MPRT response time, it delivers smooth and responsive gameplay with minimal motion blur. AMD FreeSync Premium support helps eliminate screen tearing and stuttering when paired with a compatible graphics card. The VA panel provides excellent contrast, making dark scenes more detailed and engaging. While color accuracy and viewing angles may not match high-end IPS panels, the S3222DGM performs admirably for its class. It’s especially well-suited for darker games like RPGs or horror titles. Connectivity The monitor comes equipped with two HDMI 2.0 ports and one DisplayPort 1.2, offering flexibility for multi-device setups. There's also a headphone jack, but no built-in speakers, which might be a minor drawback depending on your setup. Overall Value For its price point, the Dell S3222DGM offers great value. It combines strong gaming performance with a large, immersive screen and reliable build quality. While it might not satisfy users seeking professional-grade color accuracy or ergonomic adjustability, it hits the sweet spot for casual to enthusiast gamers who want high refresh rates and rich visuals on a big screen. Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Highly recommended for gamers who want a large, curved QHD display with excellent performance and a sleek design.

I use this monitor daily in my home office as well as have used it for gaming over the weekends. In both the scenarios, it has met my expectations very well and I am quite happy with it. Here are more details: The setup was a breeze. You don't need any tools. Just insert the stand into the base and secure with the provided screw. After that you snap the stand into the back of the monitor and you are done. You can adjust the height (up to 10 cm) as well as Tilt (-22.5 to 5 degree). It does not support swivel though. The monitor comes with and HDMI and DisplayPort cables. Simply insert the cable of your choosing into your device and you are good to go. It has good design. The bezels are thin which helps me with my 2 monitor setup in my home office (the other monitor is an Asus 32" curved monitor and both of them work well together). The other thing that I like about this is that it has preset modes as well as three modes for user-defined settings. I personally prefer the "Standard" mode for my day-to-day home office use. The colors are vibrant, response time is excellent, has fast refresh rate and input lag is quite low. Overall it is a good monitor for the price for daily home office use as well as gaming needs.

This Monitor is big, clear, and smooth to use. The curved screen makes games and videos feel more immersive, and the picture looks sharp with bright, rich colors. It’s great for both playing games and everyday computer use, and the motion stays smooth without annoying screen tearing. It doesn’t have fancy extras like HDR or built-in speakers, but the overall picture quality is still excellent. It’s solidly built, easy to set up, and has the right ports for most setups. For the price, it’s a great choice if you want a large, curved screen that’s fun to use and good value for the money.

this monitor has made my gaming experience so much better. this is my first one. i usually play on the tv with my ps5 but wanted to take things up a notch. it didnt even take me 5 minutes to set this up. i didnt even use the instructions lol. you dont have to be tech savvy to know with this monitor. i connected my ps5 and went right to playing after playing with the settings. it doesnt have any speakers. if you do have a wireless headset and a usb transceiver connected to your console, then the audio should be just fine. great price for my budget. i love it already. i hope the future is bright for my monitor and i :)

    Immersive Gaming Monitor

----- Summary ----- Verdict: The difference that a high-performance gaming monitor like the Dell S3222DGMA can make on your gaming experience is stunning. The exceptional detail and clarity, high contrast ratio, smooth 165Hz refresh rate, and AMD FreeSync all work together to deliver an incredibly immersive gaming experience. If you’re looking for a curved gaming monitor, this one is a top contender. Pros: - Appealing design - Solid build quality - Curved screen - Thin bezels - Height and tilt adjustability - Clear and detailed QHD resolution - High 3000:1 contrast ratio - Fast refresh rate (165Hz) - Stutter-free gameplay with AMD FreeSync Cons: - Stand doesn’t swivel or rotate to portrait orientation ----- Details ----- Design: The Dell S3222DGMA has an appealing design that will look great in any setting. The curved screen is the standout design aspect. As a first-time owner of a curved monitor, I’m impressed by the extra immersion it provides, especially for gaming. I was also impressed by the thin bezels and height and tilt adjustability. It doesn’t swivel or rotate to portrait orientation though, which would be nice to have for added versatility. Although the monitor and stand are made of plastic, the build quality is solid. I haven’t noticed any quality issues during setup or use, and the stand is sturdy. Speaking of the stand, a small but much-appreciated design aspect is the cutout for cable management. Since I use both HDMI inputs and might use the DisplayPort as well, it’s nice to have the cutout to keep them all together. Another nice touch is the blue ambient downlight at the bottom of the monitor, which can be turned off/on by touching it. Setup: With just a few steps and no tools required, I had the Dell S3222DGMA set up in a couple of minutes. After unboxing, the stand needs to be inserted into the base and locked into place with a screw (which can be tightened by hand). Then, the stand just snaps into the back of the monitor. It does support VESA 100mm x 100mm if you’d like to mount this monitor instead. After that, plug in the included power cable and it’s ready to go. Other cables in the box include one DisplayPort and one HDMI. Features & Performance: Since the Dell S3222DGMA is designed for gaming, the features reflect that, and they don’t disappoint. With QHD 2560 x 1440 resolution for exceptional detail and clarity, a high 3000:1 contrast ratio for deeper blacks and brighter whites, a smooth 165Hz refresh rate for clarity and faster reaction time, and AMD FreeSync for stutter-free gameplay, this monitor delivers an immersive gaming experience. It’s unlike any TV or monitor I’ve played games on before. The first day I got it, I was tempted to pull an all-nighter because I was so giddy with excitement. It might sound silly, but that’s the best way I can describe the experience of playing games on this monitor. Other notable features include game preset modes (Standard, FPS, MOBA/RTS, RPG, Sports, and three user-defined profiles), as well as Timer, Frame Rate Counter, and Dark Stabilizer options for managing frame rates, brightness, or shadow control. The features and high performance of the Dell S3222DGMA have elevated my gaming experience.

I couldn't be happier with the Dell S3222DGM. The 32" curved screen is incredibly immersive, especially for gaming and streaming. The QHD resolution is sharp and vibrant, and the 165Hz refresh rate paired with FreeSync makes gameplay buttery smooth with no screen tearing. The curve really pulls you into the action, and it's surprisingly great for multitasking and work too. Setup was super simple with both DisplayPort and HDMI options, and the overall build quality feels premium. Whether you’re gaming, watching movies, or just working from home, this monitor delivers outstanding performance for the price. Highly recommend!

I purchased the Dell S3222DGM monitor from best buy during a pretty aggressive Cyber Monday deal. When this monitor was first released it could be found for around 450 dollars. I was able to snag it for 250 during the deal. Not bad at all! Today 11/29/2022 it is still available for 249.99 which is 100 dollars off its new MSRP of 349.99. All in all its a good feature set for the price of 250 dollars. 350 dollars? Probably not so much. So lets talk about it in a quick impression. The Good The colors really pop with this TN panel. Dell has, as usual, really made sure to put a proper accurate display in this monitor. It isn't a professional panel by any means but it defiantly looks good. the 32 inch size and the 1440p resolution are a perfect match. It gives you large readable text without pixelation or blurring that you might see on a 1080p panel at 32 inches. It is easy to assemble and requires no tools, unless you want to wall mount it. The Bad: The crappiest crap ever is all of the monitor manufactures slapping HDR on everything. At 350 nits of PB you are not getting a HDR experience worth a toot. If HDR is a selling point for you, you WILL be disappointed. Unless you are looking at a product with at least an HDR 1000 rating, you might as well pretend it doesn't exist. That being said. It is a beautiful monitor and for the price of 250 dollars you cannot get much better. If you are looking for a high refresh rate, color accurate monitor this just might be the one for you.

Great interface as the curved monitor is not too curved to the point it feels weird. Sizing is great and the stand lies a bit taller which is also a plus with the set up. Quality and ease of use were also good as this monitor is my main monitor. Compared to my old 27inch monitor this one is a keeper compared to the last. Would recommend as the quality, price is worth every penny spent!

Dell 32 Inch LED Curved QHD FreeSync Monitor is a beast in every sense of the word. From its sheer size to its crystal clear display, everything about this monitor is big. You can enjoy an immersive gaming experience with its panoramic view and amazing resolution. So, lets go over some of the key features and the PROS and CONS. Key Features: Curve QHD 2560 x 1440 resolution AMD FreeSync technology 3000:1 contrast ratio - Crisp Images with Deep Blacks 165Hz refresh rate 2 HDMI 2.0 Inputs 1 DisplayPort 1.2 Super Cool Downlight - Nice Touch Vesa Certified DisplayHDR 400 Setup: The setup process for this monitor is super simple. You will find everything you need to get this monitor up and running in a few minutes in the box. In the box you receive, the monitor, stand, power cable, 1 HDMI Cable and 1 Display port cable. To setup the monitor with the stand all you need to do simply insert and lock in the stand into the monitor and the best part no tool required. Once the setup process is complete, hook up the power cable and the the input of your desire and your are pretty much ready to go. Usage: As soon as I received this monitor I super excited to to hook this baby up and see what this can do and it did not disappoint. The colors on this monitor are vivid, blacks are deep blacks, and the images are crisp, clear, and just vibrant and the panoramic curve just brings everything together. Even though there are multiple preset modes already setup, you will have to play around with the settings a bit to better suit your needs. This monitor is not only gaming, I was able to complete some data input for work as well. The text was crisp and clear and with the 32 inch display, very easy to read. The monitor comes setup with 12 presets. STANDARD, FPS, MOBA/RTS, RPG, SPORTS, GAME 1,2, and 3, COMFORT VIEW, WARM, COOL AND CUSTOM COLOR. I would recommend that you play with the setting to fit what fit your needs. The Comfort view setting has become my best friend. After spending hours staring at a monitor at work and then coming home to relax and spend sometime playing some games really does strain the eyes. I realize the color and the resolution may not be as vibrant on comfort view, but believe me it really helps. PROS: Multiple Presets Curve 165 Hertz Refresh Rate QHD 2560 x 1440 resolution AMD FreeSync technology 3000:1 contrast ratio - Crisp Images with Deep Blacks CONS: There was only one thing that I was did not like on this monitor and that was the button placement. The power button for the monitor is on the bottom right corner and the the joystick toggle and 4 buttons are on the back. its hard to figure out which button does what. Overall, this is an amazing monitor that is the best of both worlds. It will fulfill all your gaming and work needs and instead of having multiple monitor setup you will only need this.

A Fantastic Curved Gaming Monitor for the Price

I recently purchased the Dell S3222DGM 32" Curved QHD Gaming Monitor, and I have to say, I'm thoroughly impressed. As someone who spends a lot of time gaming and working on my computer, I was looking for a monitor that could deliver on both fronts, and this one doesn't disappoint. First off, the 32" curved display is incredible. The immersion you get from the curvature, especially in games, is outstanding. It wraps just enough around your field of view without being overwhelming, and it really adds to the overall experience. The QHD resolution (2560x1440) is perfect for this size; everything looks sharp and detailed without overloading my GPU. Plus, it's a great balance between 1080p and 4K, which makes it a sweet spot for both productivity and gaming. The 165Hz refresh rate is one of the best features here. Paired with FreeSync, it really makes fast-paced games smooth, with no tearing or stuttering. Whether I'm playing shooters or open-world games, the high refresh rate combined with the low response time gives me a competitive edge while also making everything look buttery smooth. Setup was easy, and I appreciate that the monitor comes with both DisplayPort and HDMI inputs. I primarily use DisplayPort for gaming, but having the option to quickly switch to another device via HDMI is a nice touch. If I had to mention any downsides, the colors straight out of the box were a bit too saturated for my taste, but after some tweaking in the settings, I got them just right. Also, it doesn't have built-in speakers, but that's something I wasn't expecting for a monitor at this price point anyway. Overall, I’m extremely happy with this monitor. It strikes the perfect balance between quality, features, and affordability. If you're in the market for a gaming monitor that’s not going to break the bank but still delivers excellent performance, I highly recommend the Dell S3222DGM!

Excellent 32 inch curved monitor . I have ZERO complaints. It looks great and works perfectly. The colors are good and the blacks are deep. I had a 27 inch monitor, so in gaming it takes time to realize that you have to twist your head to see everything on the screen because it is so much larger. You can not focus on everthing on the screen at one time due to the larger size. I would 100 percent buy it again.

I recently purchased the Dell S3222DGM 32" LED Curved QHD FreeSync Gaming Monitor, and it has completely transformed my gaming experience. Here's why I think this monitor deserves a five-star review: Stunning Visuals The QHD resolution provides incredibly sharp and vibrant visuals, making every game come to life. The color accuracy and contrast are exceptional, ensuring that all the details are crystal clear. The 32-inch curved screen adds an immersive depth to the gaming experience, drawing me right into the action. Smooth Performance The 165Hz refresh rate and FreeSync technology work flawlessly together, delivering buttery-smooth gameplay with no tearing or stuttering. Whether I'm playing fast-paced shooters or exploring vast open worlds, the performance remains consistently top-notch. Comfortable Viewing Experience The curvature of the monitor is perfect, reducing eye strain during long gaming sessions. The adjustable stand allows for easy customization of height and angle, ensuring that I can find the most comfortable viewing position. Plus, the flicker-free screen and blue light filter help protect my eyes, even during marathon gaming sessions. Build Quality and Design Dell has outdone themselves with the build quality of this monitor. It feels sturdy and well-constructed, with a sleek and modern design that looks great on my desk. The thin bezels add to the immersive experience and make it ideal for multi-monitor setups. Easy Setup and Customization Setting up the monitor was a breeze. The on-screen display is intuitive and easy to navigate, allowing for quick adjustments to settings like brightness, contrast, and color profiles. The multiple input options, including HDMI and DisplayPort, ensure compatibility with a wide range of devices.

The Dell S3222DGM is an excellent gaming monitor. It checks all the boxes with excellent response time, low input lag, and it supports FreeSync Premium variable refresh rate (VRR) technology which eliminates screen tear, all at a very good price point making it an excellent value. The build quality is good, even though it's mostly plastic. There's no flex in the body. The stand is just okay as it gets the job done, but there's a little wiggle. It supports height and tilt adjustment, but it doesn't support rotating the panel. The back of the monitor has VESA mount, allowing for wall mount or third party monitor stand. There are two HDMI 2.0, one DP 1.2 and inputs, along with a and a 3.5mm audio out. There's no backlighting, although there is ambient lighting on the bottom of the monitor. It's touch sensitive, so simply touching the bottom of the monitor toggles it on/off. The Dell S3222DGM uses a VA panel, which offers excellent contrast and deep black as long as your not in a brightly lit room. As with all VA panels, viewing angles are limited, and will appear a bit wased out at higher angles, but not an issue when viewing from the front. When not gaming, text is satisfactory for productivity applications; it's a large screen results in lower pixel density. The Dell S3222DGM is an excellent gaming monitor and good overall for most uses. The 32 inch, 1440p screen has a huge amount of screen real estate for general usage. The VA panel holds it back somewhat in productivity use or watching videos, but excels in gaming and delivers a more immersive gaming experience due to the large, curved screen..

I bought two of these and set them up side by side. They are beautiful displays and the only negative I have is that they do have about a 1/4' black border so are not truly edgeless. It looks like they should be, but after trying everything I can't get the display to show all the way to the edge. They have a great eye care mode, and the utility is worth downloading to allow them to color shift from blue to red in the evening. They are a little heavy for the arm bars that I bought to mount them on, so buy something sturdy if not using the bases that they ship with. Of course these are 2k but I don't really think 4k is needed at the distance you will be sitting from these. I use them in the dark and light and the curve is perfect to reduce background glare and eye strain. I use these monitors 10-18 hours a day.
