What can I say about the Dell SE2426HS monitor that hasn't already been said? It's a great 24” dual HDMI Full 1080p IPS matte screen monitor that allows for full rise and tilt. While I have the 24-inch model, the same monitor is also available in 27-inch. Whichever monitor you pick, it comes with a sleek, borderless frame that supports dual-monitor setups with seamless extended viewing, making for immersive gaming or just better work from home. This monitor is quite basic as it comes to inputs, and I love that aspect of it, no fluff, just what you need, 2 HDMI input ports. What sets it apart from other monitors is the full rise and tilt to adjust the monitor just the way you want it, without going for a full-motion mount. The monitor base is easy to assemble, and the base plate connects to the VESA screws if you need a full-motion mount. The monitor is well built and easy to live with. For daily use, this monitor works perfectly fine. Colors are accurate, though I wish they were a tad brighter at times. The display controls are easy-to-use buttons at the bottom of the monitor, and the on-screen prompts make navigation easy. The 144 Hz refresh rate with a 1ms response time makes for a fluid gaming experience with an AMD FreeSync-capable graphics card. The image quality in the darker scenes is perfectly acceptable for a monitor in this price range. I have no complaints about its gaming pedigree, considering this is marketed at a price point that exceeds expectations in both form and function for an entry-level IPS-capable matte-screen monitor. What I love: The frameless monitor that tilts, elevates, and twists; the matte screen that is easy on your eyes; and the quick refresh rate. What I don't love: Plugging in cables by feel; it needs a marker showing where the HDMI ports are.

Taking this Dell SE2426HS 24" IPS monitor out of the box to set up, I was annoyed to find that the monitor panel needed to be screwed onto the support arm with four tiny screws with a screwdriver, which at least was supplied. Nowadays I thought every monitor panel would be just a snap-on type of attachment to the arm. After dealing with this minor inconvenience and connecting the monitor to my PC, my annoyance changed to surprised and delighted at the vibrant color this monitor displays! The color really pops on this IPS panel. I wouldn't have guessed that I'd get such a good picture on a budget monitor. Also, this monitor has great specs with 1920 x 1080 FHD resolution, 1ms response time, 144Hz refresh rate and FreeSync, making it capable of decent gaming. In fact, I've done some gaming on it, and it performs very well, better than I expected. Smooth action, great color, detail, and brightness, and no stuttering or tearing. The height and viewing angle are adjustable. It also has a rotating plate built into the bottom of the base so the monitor can be easily turned from side to side. It has 2 HDMI ports and the standard OSD buttons & power button on the bottom right. No speakers. A power cord, HDMI cable and quick start guide come with the monitor. This is a terrific monitor, budget or not. Unless you want a bigger, OLED, or high-end competitive gaming monitor, there's no reason to spend more on a monitor. I highly recommend this one.

Good value monitor with premium features

The Dell SE2426HS is a unique specimen - Its part of Dell's "Value" line, with simple, but feature-rich, monitors that are affordably priced, but contain some of the features that are difficult to find even in the higher end P and U series devices. This 24" IPS panel is NO exception. Crisp display (that has SOME light leak but a really good black point and good color reproduction for a basic model from Dell. The construction of the monitor is also good. More black plastic than higher end P and U series from the business lines, but this offers the same stand adjustments as those more expensive models. This screen features more basic HDMI connectivity (2HDMI inputs, no DP) than the business counterparts, this works well for home users that might want to install multiple PCs with the screen. At its basic cost, its a good solution, and for business use and even casual gaming its fluid motion, high refresh rate, incredible viewing angles, and overall small footprint works amazingly for a multi-purpose PC setup or a home office where work and play intersect.

A budget monitor that rivals more expensive models

I was shopping for an inexpensive monitor that delivered a great viewing experience for a reasonable price. The specifications for this monitor certainly looked impressive. A refresh rate of 144Hz, a resolution of 1920 x 1080, a refresh rate of 1 millisecond, and an IPS panel. For work and play, this was my list of must haves. What set this one apart from the others is the 3 year warranty and fully adjustable stand. Of note here is that the monitor only supports 2 HDMI inputs, and does not have internal speakers. Neither of those is a deal breaker for me since I prefer external speakers and for my systems, the HDMI connection is all I need. I point this out in case your requirements include a different input type or internal speakers. Setting up the monitor is a breeze. You need to attach the stand with the included screws using the included screwdriver. Then connect the included HDMI cable and power and it’s ready to go. With the second HDMI port, you can easily switch between inputs. The performance really punches above its price. The color, detail, and brightness are better than I expected. With FreeSync it even handles gaming well with the outstanding response time. At this price you won’t be disappointed. It’s a solid performer with the backing of Dell.

Overall – This is a great little monitor. It quietly does almost everything right. Dell took a lot of key items - IPS color, 144Hz refresh, FreeSync, adjustable stand – and packed them into an everyday use monitor that works in office and home environments. If you have limited desk space or just need something extra with a laptop, it’s great. That said, it is a bit small for everyday use. Packaging – Dell seems to have this figured out. It’s well-protected with everything neatly organized. Nothing fancy, but everything secure, clearly labeled, and ready to go. Assembly – Assembly is a strong point here. Tool-less setup, the stand clicks together easily, and the monitor snaps right in place. Take it out of the box, screw the base on, and snap it into place – took me more time to get the HDMI plugged in than to put it together. Touch and Feel – Dell kept the design clean and professional. Thin bezels make it look modern, and the stand is actually better than what you normally get in this class—height, tilt, and swivel adjustments instead of the usual tilt-only budget stand. It doesn’t feel like a $500 monitor, but it does not feel cheap by any means. Setup & Functionality – The IPS panel gives good color accuracy and wide viewing angles, text is crisp, and the 144Hz refresh makes everything—from spreadsheets to gaming—feel noticeably smoother. FreeSync worked OK, there was no noticeable shutter. I used it for about 4 hours straight and did not notice any eye fatigue that I experienced from the smaller footprint. Awitch between inputs was easy and straightforward, as were all of the other monitor settings – exactly what I would expect from Dell. It’s nice to see them expand to 2 HDMI ports; however, a display or usbc would have been nice and maybe added some extra flexibility. The only other drawback is that I may be spoiled with my standard setup of OLED monitors, but the IPS panel doesn’t get the black right – it’s more of a dark gray. I did notice a bit of motion smoothing, but not significant. I f you have limited desk space or just a little extra for a laptop, I would highly recommend this – not sure there’s much better at this point. However, for me and usual set up of 34in coupled with a 27in or dual 32ins the 24in did feel a bit small.
