Our son was able to start making us wonderful lattes, cappuccinos and espressos immediately and he is having fun experimenting with it. The machine is attractive in our kitchen and a great value for the price.

Prepares great espressos and it is perfect brewing cappuccinos. I love the double tray to accommodate taller glasses.

Gets the job done. It can’t handle a fine grind but does a good job expressing a shot. I question the 15 bars as the cream just isn’t very rich but still better than paying lots of money to ‘crapbucks’ the steamer works but doesn’t jam out a tight bubble so Milk art isn’t happening. Honestly my dream machine is $1500. This will work for now.

Not happy. Did tons of research. Bought this machine as a Christmas gift. Recipient opened it today for the first time and it has a European plug on it. Can’t return it now as it’s over the time frame and have to spend more for an adapter. Not good at all Best Buy

Best manual coffee maker for $ 150! Good build quality. Convenient to maintain. I use it several times a day.

The item was defective for some how , it was leak problem , from the side , maybe it doesn’t apply to all delongui coffee makers but .. when I return it , Best Buy gave me full refund

There is something absolutely magical about a quality cup of coffee! For the last few years, I have been fervent in my quest to always obtain that perfect cup. I roast and grind my own beans. I have tried most every single method of coffee preparation. I have done most everything short of traveling the world to source beans directly from coffee plantations! Though my daily coffee is generally brewed as a pour-over, I often enjoy a good americano or latte. Thus, this De'Longhi machine has been a welcome guest on my counter for the past couple of weeks. If you are considering this espresso maker, know that it is not everyone. Here are some thoughts to consider: Portafilter and Basket The unit has a self-pressurized system. A normal professional espresso machine has to have a very fine grind and a near perfectly even tamp in order to obtain a decent shot. This machine is different in that it has only one little whole in the bottom of the porta-filter basket. This causes the machine to have adequate pressure for a great shot even with a larger grind and a light tamp. So, you can still have a strong enough espresso even if if your inexpensive grinder does not grind fine enough for a more expensive machine. Or if you are using a bag of pre-ground coffee that it is not necessarily an espresso grind, you can still get a decent shot. It really is pretty amazing and works surprisingly well with good crema. Boiler The machine takes less than a minute to heat the water for a double shot. I really expected it take longer for such an inexpensive machine. I can turn the machine on and it will be ready to pull by the time I grind, fill and tamp. It does have a little bit of a hard time maintaining a consistent temperature during multiple pulls. This also shows when you switch the dial for steaming milk. Expect to wait another minute after pulling a shot before you can froth the milk. All of this is adequate however and better than expected actually for an inexpensive unit unit with just one boiler. Looks The machine has an understated yet elegant look to it. The medium size fits perfectly on our counter. The stainless steal accents give a quality look and feel. This is not a machine that you will want to hide when not in use. Negatives There are a few negatives to the machine. For example, no matter how hard I tweaked my method, the steam wand would not give me a tight enough foam sufficient for latte art. Another negative is that there are important parts that are plastic where steal would be preferred (see photo of the portafilter). Finally, the cup tray is uselessly lukewarm until the machine has been on for over ten minutes. I definitely recommend you preheat your utensils with hot water rather than waiting for the tray to heat. Conclusion In the end, I understand why this machine has received some mixed reviews. Yet, many of the features that experienced baristas have found hindering are exactly what makes the machine simple enough for use by most anyone. Personally, I love it because it is so easy to use yet the results are professional-like. After a couple of weeks and dozens of shots with the De'Longhi, I have concluded that the illusive magical cup of perfect coffee is not only possible with this machine but it comes quite easily. Of course, with any method of preparation, just be sure you begin with freshly roasted coffee beans and a quality grind. This is a really good machine. A few things that cause me to say 4 stars instead of 5. 1- it’s hard to get the grounds holder in place. 2- coffee isn’t hot enough for me. 3- the frother is awkward & doesn’t always froth the milk. Things I like- 1- water reservoir 2- machine heats up quickly 3- cup warmer 4- good size for my limited counter space 5-easy to use 6- good price Over all, I recommend the machine.

I am so excited about this espresso machine! This is a breeze to use and cleaning is easier for this, than for my french press! It makes amazing espresso and the sizing options are PERFECT! I love that the steamer attachment is movable and adjustable in multiple directions, and that it runs on a separate (super easy) switch. That is safe, and overall incredibly handy. It does make some noise, but not very much at all...I make a few shots in the morning and never worry about waking up my wife, she doesn't ever hear it run. The price for this model was significantly less than others offering the same thing, or silly add-ons that have nothing to do with great espresso, and it looks GREAT! The price was the selling point for me, but having used it, I feel like I really did get one of the very best overall machines out there. A few notes about some things that I worried about. First, the handle of the coffee holder does not swing all the way to center like in the picture. It locks in place and it is close, but to force it to the center position would probably break something. It isn't loose or wonky, just not center and I don't want you to worry that it isn't working correctly. Finally, the filters are very tight and hard to remove...it lets you tamp out the coffee without worrying the filter will follow, but they are hard to remove. Honestly, that is not a bad thing...just a note. I got the double size filter in and I am happy...so switching is not an issue. I would highly recommend this product and have used it daily since it was purchased.

Make decent coffee, taste okay and easy to use. Can make coffee in 3-5minutes.

Worked great for 5 months. I used this to make on average about 6 pulls a week. I would make 2 cups at a time, two pulls and then froth enough milk for two small cups. It started leaking out of the steam wand when I try to pull shots. I tried descaling but it has only gotten worse. This is a cheap amateur appliance that makes amateur cappuccino for budget entry level prices. The pressurized portafilter does a good job of making espresso without having an expensive grinder. The appliance heats reasonable quick. If you only plan on making a cup or two of espresso once a month you might get a couple years out of it or it might start leaking in a few months. If you plan on making espresso on a regular basis, spend your money on a machine not an appliance.

very good expresso, that i've been missing since my old DeLonghi failed - it was a big one, this size is so nice. - trouble started after a week, and have to be pretty intense about clearing the cups (1, 2, pod) tiny holes; the water could not pass through, and blew the handle etc off - what a mess to clean up. if you take care of it, delicious and very satisfactory authentic and strong cappuccino, mocha, what your fancy.

While we started out loving the quality of this machine and the taste of the coffee dispensed, 7 months later we encountered a problem with the design of the small single filter basket. Please see below... When using the small filter, the filter started rotating in the portafilter when we placed it in position to brew. You can see in the pics where the detent in the small filter is so close to the to the top of the filter that it is almost in line with the spring in the portafilter. You can see where the detent actually scraped inside the portafilter and now gets stuck every time and I need to use a wrench to release it. The detents in the larger filter are lower and do not come near the portafilter spring slot. I have tried to call multiple times, but get no answer. I've held on as much as 20 minutes, so I'm hoping that I will have better results from the website. Fingers crossed! If it wasn't for this, would have been 5 stars. wouldn't recommend yet.

I received this machine for Christmas 2022 and it is used in our 5months a year seasonal residence. For the price, you cannot go wrong with this machine, it produces a great latte every time, nice frother with pretty dense froth. For the price of this machine, ease of use, clean up, quality of espresso - I've given it 5 stars. There are a few shortcomings but nothing major - I feel the reservoir is somewhat small but I have this near my sink, so use the pull out faucet hose to refill. At Christmas, with my adult children staying, there were 4 of us requiring 2 lattes each every morning, so the reservoir needed to be filled almost daily. The basket in the portafilter has a tendency to come loose once in a while when knocking the grounds out, but that's no big deal. For what this machine cost, it well exceeds expectations.
