Easy to set up, easy to use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everyone seems to be iffy on the plastic makeup of this espresso machine, but the parts that matter are metal, and honestly, for a home machine that doesn't cost eleventy billion dollars, it's a really good setup. It pulls a really good espresso, and it's not difficult to clean out at all. The tamper works fine, but you do have to have a little bit of counterspace around the machine, to get under there to tamp the coffee. Anyone saying the tamper feels brittle might be pressing too hard on it. Other than that, it's a really good machine, and since it has a ready mode where you can just pop the espresso in and turn the knob, it is an awesome time saver!

Great value, but not enough features
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Over the past couple of weeks, I have been using this machine almost every day. While it is not an all in one solution by any measure, it does have some perks to it. Setup & Build: This machine is very easy to set up and comes with a guide to making a few different kinds of drinks, which is a nice touch. I would say that the plastic is not super sturdy and a small (doesn't affect operation) hinge came off in the first week of use. I also wish there were more metal, as some people have concerns about heating metal. Use: I find this coffeemaker to make great coffee for the price and has no problem getting the most out of my beans. It works with any beans, but it must be ground as the machine has no grinder built in. I did not use the ESE Pod feature. The frother works well enough and let me make a nice latte. Overall I would recommend this product for those on a budget, but be sure to consider similarly priced alternatives that may have more features.

Good for the Occasional Specialty Drinker
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very excited to get this machine. Its a great price compared to other machines and does a good job. I consider it a good starter if you want to dabble in the fancy drinks. I had never used one before but once I figured it out it was fun! I played with the espresso, the cappuccino, and just the hot water. Great for company and you can show off your barista skills! The only downside is you cant really use a large coffee cup as it will not fit. So make sure you get some fancy espresso or small fancy coffee cups! Overall I think its a good intro machine and good for the occasional fancy drink!

Good espresso maker for under $100
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first impression of this espresso maker was that there is a lot of light weight plastic on this machine. Like the tamper, it almost feels like it might break off when tamping the coffee. It hasn’t with the 3 weeks I have been using it which surprised me. It does make a good espresso with the right beans. I tried using regular coffee beans and it just wasn’t good. I had to get expensive espresso beans and it worked really well. The frother does a great job flothing the milk. The unit itself is very easy to clean and operate. It doesn’t have a bunch of useless settings like many other machines, it is very basic yet does the job well. There are a couple of dislikes too. It just doesn’t seem to make a really hot cup of espresso. It could be much hotter for me. Also the fact that I can’t use any beans. Overall it looks good sitting on my counter and makes a good espresso for less then $100

Decent pick me up!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Ease of use. Convenience. Cons: Grinding. As many have said, a grinding feature or added grinder would be awesome. However, five bucks and a short trip later,I was off to the races. I love that I can practically take it out of the box and start using it just as quickly. I love espresso, however this was my first home machine and it was very simple and straight forward in use.I have high end coffee makers that I've had for months and still have trouble working. This espresso maker made it easy for me to set it up and get started, which is perfect for a long nighter like me who is brain dead by the time I crawl into the kitchen for some caffeine. Definitely recommend for anyone who loves espresso, needs that extra KICK, and is on a budget.

Its really great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an awesome product but i feel like there could be more things to go with it, when i opened it i was expecting there to be glasses to come with it, but sadly there werent. For me i was fine with no built in grinder because a lot of the time i use already ground coffee and put that in there, but for the price of it, it is really great. Its really easy to use and learn, i picked it up after the first time i used it. It makes coffee really fast, it takes about 5 minutes total plus cleaning. Although cleaning is a bit titious, its fine because by the time im done cleanin, the drink is cooled down enough for me to drink without getting burned! The taste it gives is amazing and perfext for my mornings.

Espresso
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Read up on making the best espresso before starting. I found the best Espresso requires 20 grams of properly ground coffee, tamped at 30 lbs. of pressure; then you count to 32 after the dripping begins. Pro: Easy to use and you do not need to buy special coffee. Cons: You are only supposed to use the machine for 45 seconds at a time. This can be a problem if you want multiple shots.

Great Beginner Espresso/Coffee Maker
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The DeLonghi Espresso/Coffee Maker is a great, easy to use beginner espresso/coffee maker that almost anyone can use. It's nice & space conserving. Also, extremely convenient that it has a dual filter function for making different types of drinks, & two different thermostats to check & adjust temperature throughout the brewing process! It's self priming, making it a time efficient operation as well. I love the stainless steel, & just wish the design included more of it, as it seems like there quite a bit of plastic structure. However, it's a great starter machine that enables you to make am array of different types of drinks to your liking! Would be even better if it includes a grinder function, because all-in-ones have a tremendous appeal to a busy mom like myself! Overall, very happy with this Espresso/Coffee Maker & have enjoyed experimenting with it! Would absolutely recommend, as DeLonghi products never disappoint in quality & function.

Makes Great Espresso, but Build Quality isPoor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At ~$100, this espresso machine makes pretty good tasting espresso. However, the build quality is very lacking. All the pieces have some kind of plastic on it, and most people nowadays try to steer clear from heating plastic elements. The machine is fairly simple to use, but does not have an integrated grinder or auto-stop. I don't see how anyone would be able to use this machine long term and not be frustrated with it. Save your money for a better one that's not as frustrating to use.

Pricey for manual
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works well as expected. I have tried the Prima Donna S and loved it. It was very expensive, so this one was a welcomed change of pace. But honestly, after using this one and experiencing both, with this machine being manual, it's a little pricey considering it's manual when there's plenty other coffee makers out there that are automatic and less expensive. Still, it's good quality and works as expected regardless as De'Longhi is always expected to do. As long as you don't mind paying a little more for a manual espresso machine.

Great espresso maker
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In my opinion I thought this expresso maker was very quick and easy to use. As long as you follow the directions. It's very simple to make a espresso or any drink that requires espresso. I also love the steam feature. I no longer feel like I need to get a drink from Starbucks, now that I can make it at home. In the long run this system will pay for itself. I definitely recommend this espresso maker.
