I have to say that this is one of the best well thought out design wise indoor grill that I have ever seen, let alone use. You can make so many different dishes on this perfectly sized heating surface that we have started trying new things that we wouldn't have ever tried with just our stove and gas grill. This Delonghi electric grill is pretty heavy and made very durable and I expect we will be handing it down to our daughter when that time comes because I truly believe believe it will last several decades, it's just that well built. The dual cooking surfaces are great for cooking on one side while using the griddle side at the same time at 2 different temps which are extremely useful. You can also use it as a broiler with 3 different temps to choose from depending on what you are cooking of course. Last but not least is just how easy it is to use and the best part to me is how simple it is to clean! It's freaking fantastic and takes very little effort to clean which is obviously my favorite thing about it. As far as cons go, this is pretty rare for me but the only downside I can see is it might be a little heavy for some and it is a little pricey but it is definitely worth every penny!

Easy to use. Easy to clean. I use it for an outdoor grill and once you lay it down it has a very large grilling surface. Bought it on clearence so got a great price also.

I ordered this on Monday it was delivered on Wednesday when I open the package it seems that this item was previously purchased by someone else and returned. This has nothing against the product but I’m a little upset with Best Buy for selling used items as new. I will never order anything online or over the phone from Best Buy ever again.I’m sure the product is amazing and I can’t wait to get another one from another store. It even had signs of gift wrapping from previous owner, and the interior of the box was obviously not packed by the manufacture. My wife had real trouble with the two other grills that we have before, the last one was melting instead of grilling! This is really answered all our needs from an electric grilling machine as every morning we love to eat grilled cheese in the breakfast! Good job Delonghi! Although a little pricy but worth for it costs!

Great Grill This is a great grill overall. It heats up very fast and cooks evenly. I really like the removable grill plates which can be washed in the dishwasher. The grill can be used several different ways, from fully flat for pancakes, etc, or you can use it like a sandwich press for paninis, or you can set it so that the top grill doesn't actually touch the food, if you want to use it similar to a broiler and not crush your food items. I really wish the waffle plates were included as this would make it even more versatile. They can be purchased separately, but at an additional cost of $60 from the manufacturer. It seems more useful than I originally imagined. Cons Waffle plates not included, so we can't ditch our waffle iron. At this price point, I would expect that to be included. Not so much a con but the temperature control has only predefined different settings like 140, 175, 215, ... 300, 355, ... 450, so you can't set it to something like 350 or 349.

This grill is really well made. It heats up very fast. It got to 400 degrees in about 4 or so minutes. The app that you use with it came in handy when we used it and cooked our steaks pretty much the way we wanted. The sear function is neat, it brings the heat way up to sear whatever you put on it. You can control the heat on the top as well as the bottom so if you are unable to get a crispy crust on your pizza, this might work for you. You can put the plates in the dishwasher making for an easy cleanup. A couple things I didn't like. The drip tray is in the rear of the grill, kind of a silly thing to do right? The cord is kind of short. The cost of this grill is on the high end for sure even though it is well made and a quality piece. This doesn't come with the waffle plates and for what it costs, shouldn't it? It's also big, so it takes up a large amount of counter space so take that into consideration. Other than those things I can recommend this to others. If you live in a small spot with no grill or if your a traveler and stay in places where a full size grill is not available, this is for you.

Highly recommend this product. Premium grill/press. Really easy to use. It is about the size of a toaster. Nice alternative/replacement to using/maintaining an outdoor grill, especially in cold weather places. Well built and built to last. Oil drip cup slides under the grill in the back, so it is not visible. Can use for a variety of foods and food types. First of all this thing looks awesome. The black and chrome are sleek. It not only fits in to any kitchen, but adds to the overall look. The set up is very easy and has a very nice color “Get Started” guide to get you going. It tackles a wide variety of foods like pancakes in the morning, a grilled cheese for lunch, then chicken or burgers for dinner. It has a drip tray to collect excess oil or grease for cleaner, healthier cooking. It comes with a spatula and 2 sets of plates. Another very cool feature is the app that gives you a digital cookbook. You can learn new recipes and cook things you never have before for new meals. There is a large LCD with clear settings and temps visible. The cooking surface has plenty of space and cooks evenly and as thoroughly as you like. You want something well done (which is the way I like it), or medium, rare? No problem. For me the best feature is how easy it is to clean up after. Just put the plates in your dishwasher and you are all set. The Delonghi grill is an awesome addition to any kitchen, whether your a skilled cook, or just someone that wants that perfect grilled cheese, and everything in between.

Just what I wanted so far. It is very fast and the quality looks good.

A good counter grill. The versatility is nice, and having separate temperature control is great for cooking different ingredients. The removable cooking plates makes cleaning much easier. While being able to convert from press grill to a dual grill is useful, the “broil” configuration is not as so since the locking positions are limited and ends up either being too high to provide heat or too low that it’s touching the food. The press grill is a bit heavy and will flatten out more delicate meats, like salmon, or squeeze the juices out of steak and burgers. Liked: Different cooking configuration Dual temp controls Changeable cooking surface Disliked: Press grill is heavy and can crush some food Broil feature didn’t work that well I tested this out as much as I could and my results were mostly good. Using it as a conventional grill was fine. I made burgers, chicken, and fish and they all came out fine. Switching to the griddle plate, more liquidy food like eggs will run towards the drip pan. Cooking with the grill press is probably only good for really thick food, like big sandwiches or really thick steak. The press is heavy enough that it will press down on the food and either crush it or squeeze out all the flavorful juices. It tends to overcook much faster as well. In that case, it’s better to use the grilling position. The broil position wasn’t that useful for me. The top has three positions that it locks into and usually ends up being too high and doesn’t get hot enough to really heat, or it’s too low that you might as well be using it as the press grill. This grill does what I needed from an indoor grill and having the extra functions just adds more to the versatility.

Pros on this unit: Love the choice of grill plates and the fact they are dishwasher safe. A lot can be cooked at one time on this unit. Does cook well once you figure it out. Cons on this unit: You need to make sure you have the counter space for this unit .Fully opened it takes up a large area. Unless you are keeping it on counter all the time it will need a generous space to store it. Takes a while to study the instructions and you need to . A bit confusing and instructions aren't the clearest. More pages were given to Spanish instructions than English. All in all ,it’s a fine unit, well constructed, easy to clean. One thing I would have to liked to see is that there was less plastic. The knobs and buttons are all very cheap feeling and are made of plastic. For the price, and the fact there is stainless steel on the unit, I would have expected that the buttons and knobs be stainless as well as it would give off a better feel of reliability and durability. Other than that really the only real negative is the space as mentioned above.

Great grill. Heats evenly, great product. I found it a little heavier than I thought it would be. I thought the cord could have been longer. I'm not a big cooker, so I only tired it a few times so far. Cleaning was easy. This is a very nice looking appliance, and looks great in the kitchen. I will use it more this summer. I love grilling over frying any day.

I have used an electric grill for many, many years for indoor grilling of meat and veggies and for making panini. It speeds up the cooking process and it is fairly to clean. I have never liked the George Foreman grills so when my grills would need to be replaced, it was so difficult to find a quality model that was durable. Nowadays, there are so many more models to choose from, each with a wide range of options and an accompanying price tag ranging from inexpensive to quite expensive. The Breville Smart Indoor 1.4” Electric Grill (BGR820XL) and the DeLonghi Livenza All-Day Electric Grill (CGH1020D) are at the top end, both selling for $299.99 and they both have similar features for the most part. The DeLonghi Livenza is called the All-Day Electric Grill because it comes with removable die-cast griddle plates for breakfast cooking and grill plates for the rest of the day (my model did not come with the waffle plates). It is convenient that the trays are dishwasher safe, but I tend to clean my trays immediate after use with moist paper towels. The cleaning tool that comes with the unit is helpful to loosen up the baked on char without harming or scratching the plates. A step up from my previous indoor grills is that there is a separate heat control for both top and bottom. That means I can use unit in a variety of ways to cook a variety of foods. For example: reheat pizza with the bottom toasting and the top as a broiler; completely open (and doubling the grilling capacity) as a grill for hamburgers and hot dogs; open as half grill and half griddle to cook fajitas with grilled vegetables; contact grill for sandwiches. This is also the sear function for sealing meat during the early stages of cooking, which keeps the meat tender and juicy. Another aspect that makes this purchase worthy of the high price tag is the Flex Press system. The floating hinge adjustment allows you to cook without crushing the food. That expands the uses of how this unit can be used (see above). My other favorite features are the safety locking mechanism, which allows me to store the unit in a pull out drawer under my counter, and the easy-to-read display. The older you get, the harder it is to read anything on appliances. The last thing I want to mention is the app that you can download onto your phone either in iOS or Android. It is the De’Longhi Livenza Grill app. The rating isn’t too high (2.8 rating), but this supplements the nine recipes you get in the black and white (hard to read and see) manual. The Troubleshooting and Cooking Guide are helpful. I was spoiled after reading the high quality Get Started booklet (large print, dark color, clear, easy to read, laminated paper). I know this is a very costly addition to a kitchen, but this is ideal for a young couple, empty nesters, or an older person who likes to cook but doesn’t want to use so many big appliances. This will not permanently replace an outdoor grill if you use one, but it is great backup when it is raining or windy outside or if you just have a few small pieces to cook in a small amount of time. It is a bit large to leave on the counter, but it does replace a griddle and panini maker. I would certainly recommend purchasing the De’Longhi Livenza All-Day Electric Grill. I have used it every day since I took it out of the box a week ago.

Over the last weeks I’ve been using the product quite consistently for sandwich, meats or roasted vegetable, my impression is that is able to deliver an over-average quality in all the products. When I received the product, my first reaction was more than positive, is clearly well fabricated with attention to the details and with a level of quality that intend to fit in a well-equipped kitchen: color, lights screens are there to make its look more attractive and this is going to dress your space. The size, over the average grill, could scare the owners of a small size kitchen (as mine) but when you realize the alternative uses that you could give to your new equipment, you realize that it deserves the space that is taken saving space for a couple of previous appliances. One additional positive outcome is that is so easy to clean and to prepare the food that I am observing that in the last times our food preparations are more often grilled when used to be fried (in in a pan with some oil), so I would like to believe that we improved our dietary habits by using this (this comment is not tested by any serious medical study). Couple of warnings for the new buyers, if you are planning to buy something that is plug and use this could not be your first choice. The product allows you to determine the heat and the time of each of the heat surfaces and require a certain understanding of cooking and elaboration times. If elaborated cooking bothers you or you are not into following cooking times/temperatures go for something less sophisticate. Also, this grill brings a certain level of technology into your kitchen so to follow instructions provided by the manufacturer could be more than needed: I never read my previous foreman grill but this one I felt that I needed, and I think pays-out.
