That said, this thing manual in every way possible and does have a learning curve. But once I got it dialed in and understood how best to switch between making an espresso shot and steaming the milk I'm very happy with it.

The machine was very loud and vibrated so much that the cup(s) slid off the base and I had to hold them in place while the coffee dispensed. It may be a good product but I believe the one I got was flawed.

I applaud DeLonghi for producing an affordable espresso maker. However, this machine falls short; quality, slow to heat, and non-intuitive functionality. At best, it’s a decent machine that will require a major learning curve. In my opinion, this shouldn’t be marketed as “barista-quality”. Alternative options for a few more dollars, will provide a better experience, quality espresso, and sturdier build. If you’re looking for something cheap and aren’t overly concerned with espresso distinctiveness, you’ll be fine.

Pump failed to transfer water from reservoir to steam chamber. Very noisy and had an odor like the motor was burning up. Returned for refund. BestBuy was wonderful throughout the return process and received credit immediately.

Lots of plastic parts and rubber for the frother I paid 99.00 and feel that for the price I should have invested in a better espresso machine
