Operation is very straight forward with basically a setting to run espresso and the hot water or steam for the froth wand. The overall design is pretty solid and doesn't take up tons of space like other machines sometimes tend to do. It comes with the filters for both the double and the single shot and the portafilter, it can also use the coffee pods but I prefer grinding my own beans. A side note on beans.. note that you'll have to try different beans and grinds along with the amount of beans to settle in on a preferred brew. I would recommend getting a high quality grinder with this machine so you can control how fine the grind is and get the best flavor from this machine. It makes a great cappuccino and espresso for making your own iced or hot lattes or mochas. The only thing that I wish it provided was a little more control over the pressure and temperatures to customize the brew but for anyone who's new to this, this machine is a great start for sure! It does come with a tamper and measuring spoon so you can get the measurement just as it's needed for each shot. The machine also has a warming plate on top to warm cups and in the water compartment storage for the filters. I do wish the measuring spoon/tamper were stainless too but they work just fine as they are and is really a matter of preference. it does have a water level built in so you can see where it is and the the tray cleans up easily while also being adjustable for taller cups. The frothing wand works good, but lacks fine control of the steam and for whatever the reason it seems to get the milk almost too frothy/foamy, so watch out to not do it too long. Other than that, I am overall pleased with this machine and would recommend it!

Great budget friendly espresso machine!

This has allowed her to enjoy some shots of espresso in her coffee every morning for a fraction of the cost of going out to the coffee shop. The machine was easy for her to set up and has clear instructions on what must be done first before you enjoy your first cup. The machine doesn't take up a lot of counter space and the stainless steel and black fit right into her kitchen and it makes her feel like a barista at home. It is a nice little machine for the right price.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.One of the only things I did not like was how hard it is to maneuver my cup to fit in between the space where your cup goes. I have very large cups in my house and even a few of the smaller sized cups I own I had to tilt to the side to get it under the spout. I also had to remove the bottom part to get it in there to fit. I know espresso is made with very small cups, but I was not aware of how small the actual cup needs to be. I know it is not a huge deal and an easy fix by buying 1 or 2 cups strictly for this issue, but I was not expecting that at all. Other than that, I do like this Espresso maker. I like how it was so easy to get started. It takes ground coffee, which is great, but it only allows for 2 scoops at a time. If you want to do 2 shots of espresso, you would have to empty it out and add another 2 scoops of coffee if you want it to be a strong espresso shot. I like how you can determine how much you want in that one shot because you stop the machine when you feel there is enough in the cup, but I also don't like that either because if your not use to eyeballing it, you could make too much and the espresso won't be as strong as you may like, but I guess that is where the smaller cups can come in handy. I think in due time, I will get used to how much I like, but it will just take some time like with anything. One of my favorite things about this espresso machine is the milk frother. It is absolutely what I wanted! It steams the milk and froths it perfectly! I love that! I also think that getting smaller cups to accommodate the machine would also be ideal when making dual shots at one time. There is no way you can make two cups with the size cups I own so it would be a great idea to get espresso cups for this purpose too. Overall, this is a great espresso machine and I would def recommend it. It's a great machine for beginners because some of the other espresso machines can be super complicated. This one is easy and you can great tasting espresso and cappuccinos right away out of the box.
