Yes, yes it was. It was for Mom. Why?... Gerard Butler. Mom says... "Oh, he's so mean. So... mean... and arrogant... and angry... and so resolute! He's so nice... he's beautiful!" It's your typical rogue cop movie, with an "and-they-all-fall-down" story arc, and a naughty cop with a heart of gold surrounded by sugary donut meat. You'll understand when you watch it, and if you don't... you didn't watch it with Mom.
