  • HDMi pass through Failed at 4 Months

    I bought this AVR based on the reviews. After 4 months the left speaker in Zone 2 AND the HDMi output have both failed. HDMi in works because I could play the surround sound content from the cable box until I initiated a reset based on Denon Troubleshooting tips. I tried a hard reset but am now stuck as it needs the TV to program it. Without HDMi out working that's a non starter as the AVR display states to use the TV screen for the setup commands. The good news is I have a 2 year warranty with Denon. The bad news is I have to pay about $50-60 to ship it to a repair center. The closest one is a 6 hours drive away so that's out. My local BB only repairs PC's and basically told me to call the manufacturer, I'm on my own. The AVR was a great unit with nice features when it worked. However, a major failure at only 4 months of light use means this is cheaply built with cheapo poor reliability components.
