The receiver does not work properly all of the time. When you turn it on you will sometimes have to turn it off and then back on to get the sound to work. It is kind of annoying.

Love it. The remotes. A bit dinky and the pass through 4K seems to be issue laden but other than that a great purchase

I bought this receiver to replace my 5.1 Pioneer. This Denon had issues right out of the box. I could not get it to work with my KDLinks media box running Kodi. When I enabled pass through it would just give me static. After further looking into it I found out that Denons have that issue. I returned it and got a Onkyo and I do not have any issues or regrets.

Bought this receiver for the features and the HDMI pass through feature. The first unit had a problem staying in cable/tv pass through. Customer support at Denon was useless. Exchanged it for another unit which had the same problem along with HDMI video drop out in DVD mode, Returned it for another brand which appears to work correctly.

This is the second time where the hdmi ports stop working. You can hear audio but no video. I had the board replaced under warranty once and seems like the issue is appearing again. Would not recommend this product to anyone.

The product had problems from the beginning. I'm using it in a stereo set up and not surrounded sound. The sound would switch to surround during commercials and some Netflix shows that forced us to use the TV's speakers. Also the Bluetooth stopped working completely.

This is the fourth AV surround system I have set up and by far the easiest. Everything went without a hitch , which is unusual. The sound is great, and the receiver itself seems to scream quality. At this price range, it is a bargain. It has the features that will keep it future proof for a while. Can't wait to try the DTXs when it is available. I returned a defective Sony dh770 and upgraded to this with much hesitation, feeling I should have saved the extra money and just gotten another 770, but I am glad I did upgrade to this Denon.

    Excellent Sound and under $500!

A $500 Audio/VIdeo Receiver is not entry level priced. Any Best Buy receiver is a good item. Best Buy is a good company that way. But, at this this price, I am amazed at the excellent sound. I am using the manual audio setup until I add more sound absorber panels which I make by hanging a carpet on the wall over a wooden frame with fiberglass insulation stapled on. The fluffy side is on the front. My apartment has tiled floors. I got pre-edged room size carpet at Lowes to reduce room echo also. A 7 channel receiver will play a variety of speaker setups using the extra 2 speakers or will Bi-Amp a speaker system with that input option. What a great tuner. I have a premium level FM antenna and get 50 channels in South-east Kentucky. This is farm land, not Queens, NY! I sold high end audio equipment and can say I think this is a very good choice for sound quality and ease of setup. It is easily worth the cost. Only this negative comment, the unit is a little slow to respond to calls from the remote, keep that in mind when you poke the clicker.

I am buying this Denon after replacing two Onkyo that quit working and a Yamaha that i paid 400$ and had great reviews but didnt have enough power to hear sound out of my rear surround speakers. With the Denon I can hear my rear surround like they were intended too. Im using 2 definitve technology 1000 monitors, 1000 definitive center, 2 fluance bipolar for rear, 12" Acoustech sub, It sounds awesome.
