REALY GOOD MID-RANGE RECEIVER
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Reasonable price, good on-screen set-up makes the difference; many configurations available; manual adjustment for each speaker is also available; last but not least - sounds really great.

So Far So Good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased the AVR720 and so far I am very pleased. I purchased the Denon AVR700 last year around this time and it already went out so I was hesitant to buy another Denon. I actually purchased the Pioneer elite 301 but it didn't fit in my media center so I had to return it. With much hesitation I bought the Denon and am very please with the sound quality compared to the AVR700.

Easy setup and works well
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this receiver for my new house. Had installed the surround sound system and wanted a receiver. Even the best buy associate recommended this product. It was easy to install and setup and was able to connect Bluetooth easily as well.

Great, but not perfect.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed to upgrade to a new A/V receiver after my Onyko stopped working properly after nearly a decade. Decided to go with the Denon on the price and good reviews. It's got all the modern features and plenty of HDMI ports, but it is missing the RCA ports I utilized on the older Onkyo. Otherwise, it's great.

Absolute JUNK!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this receiver less than 6 weeks ago and had the Best Buy Geek Squad install it, as they were also installing ceiling speakers in a new home my wife and I had just built. The installation went well and up until last week, I was pleased with the performance of the receiver. Then it happened...the dreaded update. The receiver is connected to my 1GB wireless network and it's located about 20 feet from the wireless router. When I attempted to perform the update, the receiver showed a message indicating the update had failed and to try again. Several attempts later and I was still receiving the same error message. I called Best Buy and was told that the soonest they could get to me to work on the receiver was June 2nd. I had placed the call on May 20th, so it was going to be almost 2 weeks before someone could come to my house. I declined to make an appointment and then attempted to connect the receiver to the router directly using a LAN cable. Guess what...the same update failed message appeared. It was then that I realized that in order to switch from a wireless to a wired connection, I would have to change the settings in the receiver. As the receiver was now bricked, I wasn't able to do that either. I called Denon support and was told to do a hard reset on the receiver. That involves turning off the receiver, then turning it back on while holding two buttons on the front of the receiver. Well, when I pressed the on/off button, the receiver would turn off and then immediately turn back on, so that didn't work. The I was asked to unplug the receiver, and then while plugging it back in, hold the two buttons on the front of the receiver. The receiver is installed in a cabinet so I couldn't do that either. I guess I'll have to wait until I grow another arm or my wife gets home from work. So basically, I have a brand new receiver that neither Denon or Best Buy is able to provide adequate support for. I shouldn't have to wait two weeks for Best Buy to have a technician available. We're now listening to our TV through the TV speakers, but I guess that's better than trying to listen through a bricked receiver. I'm unplugging it and will return it to Best Buy for a refund. Then I'll buy another receiver, but not a Denon, and not from Best Buy..

Tons of functionality at an affordable price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This receiver can do just about everything including Zone 2 and Atmos. Unfortunately, it cannot do both at the same time while my Onkyo can connect both.

Not enough power
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was replacing my old Onkyo receiver that I had for about 10 yrs. Since I had the old Bose AM-15 speakers I thought this Denon would be a perfect fit. I brought it home and after installing it, i was extremely disappointed with the output power. I had to crank it up well over the half way mark just to hear the sound. Also the software firmware update didn't work at first but the second time it finally took. The bluetooth pairing was easy with the iPhone but had some issues on the second day. I liked all the features but after watching regular TV, a movie and football games, I knew I made a mistake. I have a small narrow living room so I didn't think I would need that much. I returned it and purchased the OnkyoTR-NR757. It wasn't in stock so I have to wait a few days. I have my fingers crossed that I will be happy.

Horrible sound and setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had an expert friend try to help set this up for all channel stereo, best we could get is muffled and sounds like it is in a tunnel. Sound is not even like it was on my old 5.1 Onkyo
