Excellent
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked this up on Black Friday and just finished my media room so now I have a chance to review. The Audyssey set up was very easy. I have paired this with Monoprice in wall speakers and a Klipsch sub. To say that I'm satisfied is an understatement. The connections are ample and the sound is amazing. The speakers were inexpensive and sound better than I could have hoped. Listening to music or watching movies this will do to trick for anyone who wants to upgrade to a 4k system with all the whistles and bells. I couldn't be more happy with this unit.

Was working great before a firmware update
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This replaced my AVR-X1100W. After setup and adjustment, the receiver had been working great. 20 days into ownership, it prompted that a firmware update was available. I let it install and returned a couple of hours later. I decided to play some smooth jazz. At med-low volume, I switched between the different sound modes and each worked fine except the receiver abruptly shut off when I selected Multi Ch Stereo. I turned it back on and tried again and the same thing happened. I turned the receiver back on, turned the volume all the way down, switched to Multi Ch Stereo, and slowly increased the volume. When it got to level 26 the amp blew with a loud pop and the receiver was dead. Multi Ch Stereo worked fine before the firmware update. I'd only owned the receiver 20 days but it was outside of the 15 day store return policy so I opted to use the Geek Squad Protection rather than manufacturer's warranty for a quicker turnaround and to give myself the option of buying a different product if it couldn't be repaired. I was apprehensive about getting another X1300W, especially considering my X1100W suffered from the LCD display fuse issue that many owners experienced. It couldn't be repaired so I got a store credit which I used to buy a model up.
