Worth every penny! Not overly complicated to set up especially with the setup assistant. Able to tweak and customize without having earned a Master's Degree in IT. Seamless integration with home network and Bluetooth devices. And, I love the ability to reassign a pair of speakers from the 7.1 to an individually controlled second zone. I can listen to music on the deck while my daughter watches a movie in the den.

This Denon receiver was exactly what I needed to complete my theater room. This replaces another brand that was randomly blacking out the TV picture for a few seconds when running through the receiver. I have not had any issues with the Denon and the sound is better than expected. Simple to use, however, I have not tried all the features but at some point I know the kids will.

I bought a floor sample for about half the list price. Unit is hooked up to a UHD4K 60" TV with a seven speaker and subwoofer system. Great separation and strong bass from receiver. Sound comparable to units much more expensive.

I must say I wasn't expecting much when we decided to replace our ROTEL receiver/amp with this DENON 1225W - only b/c we had this ROTEL for over 12 years and it still stood up to the best of the receivers out there. However, after just one hour of simple install and some set up questions - plus their great calibration feature using a supplied microphone, we were not only up and running, it was running beautifully. Our home theatre doesn't need anymore output than this Denon provides, and it has all the HDMI ports that I could desire with more to spare. It works with my HARMONY remote and hasn't given us any trouble since the day it was installed. Overall a great product with little to no hassle. On a Samsung 4K TV, Apple TV4, Samsung Blue-Ray.

While I was initially hesitant to spend so much money on the receiver, it's worth every penny. I love how easy it is to operate and how magnificent the sound is. I have it connected to my Definitive speakers and they rock. We hardly listen to anything on the TV speakers now.

This was an upgrade from a non-HDR Denon receiver. Basically had to buy this to be able to maximize the utility of the TV and Roku unit. Easy to program, sounds good, and has a ton of features- all in all, I'm pleased with this receiver.

The receiver has excellent quality and using the HDMI ports, it was relatively easy to get set up. If you're going to use the apps on a smart TV, be sure to get the digital optical audio cable and set the configuration accordingly.

I have hooked receiver up to a Samsung 4K 60" television and a 7 speaker Boston system with a Kliptsch subwoofer. Sound has been outstanding. Crisp sound with great separation. Bass is strong without being overpowering.

Overall this unit is good and does it's job. I would recommend you get it on sale though. I have had no issues with this and sound quality is good. Setup was tricky mainly because I went from a 10 year old receiver to this one and the old receiver didn't have a setup GUI that I could do on the TV. My only two complaints are that it doesn't pick up radio stations as good as my previous receiver did and when using the audio calibration program the "chirps" it uses to calibrate the unit are a bit louder than I would like. The "chirps" are kind of loud and slightly high pitched and my ears just don't like the noise but you should only have to do the setup once so it's really not that much of an issue. Like I said overall it's a good product and I don't regret buying it so that's always a plus.

Before I need a 7.2 receiver, I had the Denon E300 which was really good but this receiver has much more power! I am using the same speakers and it sounds like an entirely new system! Great product

Easy set up. However, had to return first unit because it it ceased to function. Seemed like there were several issues with receiver and components that were running through it (ie blue ray dvd player, cable box, xbox) and communication with the tv. Second unit had its issues also, switching on and off randomly. Not sure if this is problem with software or compatibility with software of different brand components (ie tv, dvd, etc). Ok for the price. Makes you wonder why it was on sale. My old Harmon-Kardon receiver was much better and much more reliable. I would recommend with some reservations

I needed to upgrade because I was out of HDMI inputs into my old 5.1 receiver, went into Best Buy just to see what new was around, nothing peaked my interest so the guys on the floor guided me to Magnolia audio guys... It was "hidden" inside the Magnolia display, plenty of HDMI inputs, lots of expandability. It does take about 15 minutes to setup the audio but WOW, makes my old 5.1 system sound like a piece of junk. An extra little piece of advice... keep your eyes open inside the Magnolia display for "open box" height (DTS-X / ATMOS) speakers, could save yourself a bundle. The only "issue" if it is an issue is that it switches to bluetooth audio if my wife reboots her computer... oh and the last input being watched when you turn the system off is automatically routed thru HDMI so the system doesn't physically need to be on to watch your cable tv

I was very apprehensive at the thought of having to "program" the receiver after connecting all the cables. Denon is amazing at creating the easiest set-up of a receiver that I have experienced. I have found that, after listening to the various receivers that I could afford, the Denon actually had the best "sound". I have always enjoyed the Yamaha, but after listening to both the Yamaha and the Denon, the Denon had the most pronounced sound, sound with defination. I really wanted to like the Yamaha, but in the end, Denon won out. I have not been disappointed yet, and I continue to find features that makes this even better. The iPhone remote control app is really great and easy to use.
If you are looking for a future proof 4K receiver give this Denon a really good look.

I tried replacing my 10 year old Denon receiver with an Onkyo TX-NR656 but that was a disaster. After several hours of set up the unit locked up after a firmware update. Back in the box it went and on it's way back to the retailer. This was my second purchase and what a difference in the set up! So easy (a hundred times easier than setting up my original Denon AVR2307CI) and it came with a tripod made from cardboard for making the sound set up a breeze. Bluetooth setup was easy, the app works well and I have it connected to my mobile hot spot instead of wifi with no issues.

I am very impressed with this Denon receiver. Please note that it MUST be connected to a monitor/TV to see all the settings and functions. You can't really use it without a monitor since all of the remote control inputs are screen based. The front display only shows very basic info. -This is my only real complaint. I am in a rural area and it will not get most FM stations. I use high speed internet to listen to online stations without issue. The WiFi works great. Overall, the sound quality is good. This receiver doesn't get as hot as others I have owned.
