great sound easy to hook up, awesome product for a low price

This Denon has prowess and features that rival more expensive models. It has seemingly increased the sound clarity and output and has really enhanced my home entertainment system. It is sleek and modern in its look and design and fits greatly in the schematic of the room it occupies. Really good device that has allowed me to stream music effortlessly.

Nice receiver. I use with my Bose speaker system for my 86" Samsung TV. All 3 together gives me that true theatre feeling when I'm watching movies, sports, or just about anything. Non-regretable purchase.

I needed a receiver that could handle multiple functions. This receiver operates the TV (including cable), a blue tooth DVR, a cassette player, a turntable for vinyl records, a radio as well as 4 surround sound speakers. All function perfectly. It was also reasonably priced considering all its features.

This is a great product. Easy to set up and good value.

Cannot say enough about this stereo. It has so many options, settings, and capabilities. From just listening to the radio to changing over to movie time, this stereo offers it all. Would definitely recommend this to any of my friends if they are looking for great sound.

I'm no receiver expert, I got this for my dad, but he seems to like it. We've got surround sound, and it seems like it outputs good quality. I know this brand is pretty great and reliable. No hate on my dad but if he can figure it out I'm sure most people could.

This receiver was easy to install and the sound output is very good.

Like all Denon products, the AVR-S540BT is well built. I use it to run my 5.1 surround system. It has plenty of power to push the speakers that I have. I went to four stars only because this model do not have a phono jack. With that in mind, I'm actually moving up two models to buy the Denon AVR-S750H.

easy set up with a great sound and easily connect to my iphone.

I bought this receiver to use as a bedroom TV sound amplifier. I installed just 3 speakers; center, front right, front left. I was expecting a little more from Denon. The sound is okay, but somewhat lacking in power. I would not recommend for a living room or HT setup; only for a bedroom or office. I do like the blue tooth capability, but don't use it much.

easy set up easy to use good features and quality

This requires a bit of context. I did not want to buy a receiver. I bought a TV but did not realize the outputs on TV and inputs on my wonderful old Carver receiver are not compatible. I just wanted something to substitute seemlessly as I have a great sound system that I have carted around the country over the years. But this is so much more complicated. With the launch codes, I think I could launch nuclear missiles in South Dakota from this receiver. I just wanted to have surround sound again. The Carver was much easier, e.g., there were volume controls fore center and surround speakers on the remote. Now it involves three different screens.And while it is environmentally responsible, and virtually no manufacturer supplies them anymore, the lack of a hard-copy manual is a real loss for me. If the folks at Denon could advise the easiest means to raise volume of surround speakers, I would much appreciate thagt information. And, by the way, the LG 49" NANO 85 is a great television. The upgrade to 2160 resolution is a qualitative improvement.

Really happy with this Denon 5.2 receiver. This was a replacement to my last receiver in my large living room. I needed a receiver for the 5.2 hard wired sound system to power through a larger area with high ceilings. The Denon is perfect, really easy to set up, and has better ease of use than my previous receiver.

Seems to work well with Bluetooth from iPhone. Have it connected to two large bookshelf speakers exclusively for music in game room. Had an Onkyo that wouldn’t consistently connect to guests phones to play music, so bought this.

Easy set up. Works as described! I set it up feeding my direct tv box into the receiver then into the tv. The surround sound and image are amazing! With audio-arc things originating on the smart tv are transmitted to the receiver then to the surround sound. Works perfect!

Great power and simple set up and balancing. Throws enough power out to make the subwoofer rumble and the rest of the output is balanced. Only downside is the power could lead to potential hearing loss so watch the overall master column level!
