It is my first amp purchase. Along with this one, I also bought book shelf speakers (klipsch 51m) and center speaker (elac debut 2.0 c6.2). This amp is well matched with speakers, and the connection with computer via HDMI and phone via bluetooth works very well, making very good sound in a room. Installation process is easy to understand and straightforward.

Replaced my 20 year old surround sound receiver because old faithful wouldn't connect to my new 4K TV. The surround sound from this new Denon opened my eyes and ears to what I had been missing. Movies now sound as if I am in the middle of all the action. Also the included microphone for set up perfectly tuned the sound for our favorite viewing seats. Excellent value for the price.

Bought this to replace my Sony one that just magically stopped working for no reason. It drives my speakers which is all I need. Though it seems to drive them slightly quieter than my prior receiver. At least it's lasted 5x longer than my other one. Can't complain, bluetooth is nice if you want to link up with your phone and play music.

Replaced my old Denon AVR-1513 with this current model for compatibility with 4K monitor, Apple TV, bluetooth, 4K Blu-Ray Player, current audio standards. Very happy with purchase. Things look and sound much better, and I don't have to jerry-rig cabling as I had in the past. HDMI handles everything. Easy set up, no technical assistance needed.

I was skeptical of the price vs quality at first, but I ended up taking the chance. I am SO glad I did. This has been an amazing addition to my home theater and I couldn't be happier. Being able to connect my smart phone to it instantly makes this more than worth it!

My old receiver was hard to program even different radio stations. This is straight foreword, the Bluetooth is a fantastic feature, and it powers my 4 outdoor speakers and sub no problem. Sounds great. Don’t overpay for something you may not need, this is a good unit.

I had a more advanced Denon receiver that one practically needed a degree in engineering to master. This was simple and puts out great sound. I love being able to use my I-Phone to control music. Especially helpful when entertaining. Great value for the money...

The sound quality for its price it's really good and the fact that it comes with the microphone to run the automatic sound setup is really nice. The design is OK, pretty much the same size, look, and feel like any other receiver in the market (I wonder why no one can come up with a different design). Connection via Bluetooth to play music is quite convenient, I'm using it to play songs from a Google Home device (that, unfortunately, doesn't come with an audio output port). But what is really bad is the Bluetooth connection to control the receiver, pretty limited and not very well designed - in my humble opinion. The remote control could be better too. For those reasons I remove one star from my overall rating.

This is my second Denon receiver. So much of what had to be selected or was part of a process has been automated and streamlined. It’s just much more intuitive than past models. And of course it has Denon sound quality. I use some Infinity speakers with mine and I love the sound experience with each use. When I asked the salesperson at BB about surround systems , he asked me what I had. Best response as he suggested a new receiver (mine had no HDMI inputs/output) to keep the Infinity speaker quality. Best advice I’ve had in a while.

Not too much to say here, the receiver does what you want it to do and is relatively user friendly. Only thing I find difficult to do is adjust the audio levels to the individual speakers. I found it once but have been unable to get back to the settings for it easily. I like this unit as it still has the AV cable inputs for some slightly older tech to utilized still like our wii. Love the Bluetooth feature as well!

Everything Denon said it was. Easy to use, able to play my music through Bluetooth even though I also have my Denon CD player connected. I have the blue ray, satellite and TV hooked up. Sounds great! Great price!

Great sound quality, lots of HDMI ports, and easy to set up. Glad I purchased this for my 58" LCD in my master bedroom. Has great functions, great sounds options, and once again easy to use. Denon didn't let me down with the quality on this receiver. Well worth the money!!!

I had two receivers that were both over 15 years old. I just set this up and wow.... what a difference! Not only does it have built-in Bluetooth, USB, and other newer technology.... . it actually sounds 100x better than my old 5.1 yamaha.... same speakers... same room.... same subwoofer. Why? Well, I'm thinking because of the automatic tuning feature. Just plug in the included mic and let it automatically adjust the speakers for you. I'm guessing my old receiver was never tuned just right. I'm super impressed.... This is a great 5.2 receiver and I'm very pleased with my purchase so far. It does everything I need. The 5 HDMI inputs and 4K support are added bonuses. This is my first Denon purchase and so far, I am super pleased!!

Coming from a 2000 Panasonic 6.1, this Denon shines. I was surprised to hear more coming through the hdmi cable then optical. Easy setup, easy to use. Just wish sub had its own level adjuster on remote like my old panasonic. Well worth the upgrade

Nice features with pre-programmed audio effects. Much easier to set up than older systems because of the HDMI cables and balancing sound microphone. Good sound with one or two subwoofers. Great value for the money, I use it in my 1100 sq ft shop and it has plenty of power.

Do not be fooled by the entry level pricing. I just replaced a high end Denon with this unit and it is actually just as good. This little Denon is powering full size front and center speakers, a subwoofer and two rear surrounds - all Infinity speakers. It has no trouble driving the full size speakers - unlike what some other reviewers have mentioned. Pure Denon sound quality which is exceptionally good. I am an audiophile, and expect great sound and this unit meets the mark with great sound. Couple of limitations you should be aware of. You cannot change the name of input on display - I turn off my display so no big deal. Also, it has only 3 4K pass through inputs. The unit does not have banana plug connectors - which is really a non issue, the binding clips work just fine and quite frankly lot easier use. This unit cannot do Atmos sound, which is not an issue in my case. In a smaller home theater room you really cannot hear the difference with Atmos anyways. And finally no wireless, which is a non issue for me, because I use my Apple TV for such needs. Net net if you want to save money and good these limitations, you will still get exceptional sound from this receiver as good as their high end models.

Love this receiver and home theater system. Using it to power six speakers. More than enough power for very loud sound when/if required. Setup was easy and use is easy to understand. Been a workhorse for over a year now.

Needed to upgrade 20 year old receiver in our exercise room. Needed HDMI connections and simplicity for the family use. The Denon AVR connects a Roku Streaming Stick for TV, Sonos Connect Player and an Apple TV. The receiver was fairly simple to set up. Just needed to read directions onscreen. The sound quality is considerably more balanced than we have been hearing for years with the old setup. It is easy to move between inputs for the family. We use the Apple TV to mirror exercise apps with guided movements and timers on our phones. It also allows music to be played in background. We have been using the Denon for more than a month and it works perfect for our application.

I needed a receiver to power my outdoor entertainment system. I have 6 Definitive Technology 6500 speakers and 1080P DLP Movie Projector. It was also important to me that it has Bluetooth to stream music. This is perfect, easy setup, simple to use Denon 500 App, has a microphone to put in the middle of the yard/room to run a system/sound ck to calibrate speakers/sound. The sound is amazing.. very rich clear crisp. Love it
