I have enjoyed the first so much that when I needed a receiver to pair with a new TV in the vacation home I got another one. This receiver provides all the basics that you may be looking for. I appreciate the ability to control the receiver volume levels through the TV remote when you take advantage of the HDMI ARC connection.

I am impressed with its ease of set-up . This Denon receiver also has pass through so for instance I can turn on my tv and cable system and the sound automatically comes from the tv . Then when I turn on the receiver the sound automatically comes from the receiver . And the 5.2 system means I can have one or two subwoofers .

It does have a bunch of options, but what good are they if you can’t utilize them. First I have to reset the dang thing every 2-4 days. I have to unplug it just so the ARC works. I go to watch TV and only sound is through my TV and the receiver is not an optional output for sound. My Samsung TV has the universal remote and you can ID The Denon receiver and have it as an option for an out put but then it disappears and I have to reset it again. Also, the pass through for cable was terrible. Video was often intermittent and no sound through Denon. If I don’t have to disconnect all my speakers and devices I would take it back...oops to late so I am stuck with it. I attached the power to a power switch now with other device and I just trip power switch for 30 sec then I’m back in business.
