Our outdoor entertainment hub

Love using it through Bluetooth connection to phone for music while in pool or BBQing. We also connected our outdoor projector to it through the HDMI and enjoy watching movies with theater quality sound on the 150" screen while in the hot tub at night. Excellent A/V Receiver. Highly recommended.

The RCA plugs (yellow) do not up convert to HDMI... so no picture for my games. I ask Denon, why is there a yellow input if it does not up convert to HDMI? I paid $200. The models that up convert cost $1000. I kept the receiver and bought Insignia RCA to HDMI. Got those on sale for $30 (got 2) and HDMI cables (on sale). So, for about $80, I made it work.

The automated sound level balance settings for your listening position using a microphone at your seat works great as does the automatic ARC (audio return channel) from my TV's HDMI port. No problems picking up noise free radio broadcasts. And the remote is easy to use but not too cluttered with buttons.

The remote is big and bulky like a 90's remote. You have to connect a monitor into the system to initially configure which is awkward and an unexpected pain. And you're pretty limited in regards to fine tuning the EQ without adding on an additional EQ externally.

I just needed a receiver to power my basement system in a smaller room. With only five channels this is perfect to cover a basic surroundsound system. As always Best Buy had a great deal with free shipping and lots and lots of options. I recommend this receiver for middle of the road surround systems.
