    I am very disappointed with this particular model AVR-S540BT RECEIVER because it stopped working after 2 1/2 years. It also never could connect to my Roku thru the LG TV I bought at the same time. We ended up connecting the receiver directly to Roku, not the TV.

    This Denon AV Receiver is a great deal for those who can't afford to spend $100's of dollars on high end equipment. It does the job, has many features and works great. I use it in my 12' x 15' den, for TV/BRay/VCR surround sound, and FM/CD/Cassette stereo use. I buy Denon b/c I still have my old Denon AV Receiver from 1997, and it still continues to run strong.

    1. Out of the box the right rear channel produced no sound. Swapped cable with left rear and problem moved. On 3rd run of set-up, started to get static in failing channel. On 5th run, sound "broke through". Leads me to question quality of components / assembly. 2. YouTube video warned that using eARC connector and any other input would cause all to fail. It was right. With (new) TV plugged into eARC, old Blu-Ray player produced NO sound or picture when plugged into "Blu-Ray" port. A NEW UHD Blu-Ray player and cable worked ONCE until "stop" was pressed. Then the video output changed to flashing pink static, and pressing "play" again would not fix it. 3. Despite the 136 page manual, nowhere are the cryptic messages on the display documented. I figured out that "[blotch]DD" is Dolby Digital, but what does "Mv audio" mean?
