Huge upgrade
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just bought the Sony 7.2-Ch. with Dolby Atmos 4K but returned it after a few days.. I went with this Denon and it blew away the Sony. Everything about it was better... The Denon costs more but so worth it. Great sound, easy remote, Easy hook up.

Great Receiver for the price!
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great receiver for the money. Easy you use and powers a set of Klipsch towers and surround speakers with ease! More than enough inputs for your average game console, cable, media. Decent amount of control. Denon a house name that will continue for me.

Denon AVR-S540BT
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We replaced our 18 year old Denon receiver this year with the Denon AVR-S540BT. The set up was easy compared to the original for the home theater audio. There were some "bumps" along the way with the new smart TV, but it has been got it sorted out, and it has been a terrific upgrade. The sound is great. Plan to add a subwoofer in the near future.

The best HDMI circuitry
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am using this receiver in ou backyard where we have multiple entertainment centers. We have very long HDMI cable runs (300 feet) and we're daisy chaining the source single from the house to the first area which is 200 feet, then extending it another 300 feet to the other area. I've tried every major electronics brand and the satalite single was always intermittent. Then I read a review about Denons HDMI capabilities. So we bought our first units about 5 years ago. They worked perfect! One of my units got wet and I had to purchase this last week. Plugged it in and it performs flawlessly!

It's a nice receiver. Looks good. Works well.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the looks of the receiver. The remote is nice, but I don't really use it since I prefer to use a universal remote. The big problem that I see is that there does not seem to be an easy way to change the receiver inputs (cbl/sat, tuner, dvd, etc.) using my universal remote. I can power the receiver on using it, but I don't have the ability to switch inputs. So I have to either get up and change it manually or use the Denon remote. The other thing I found annoying was the lack of a manual. Even the one online isn't very detailed. So I had to call for help with some questions that I had. The people were very nice, but hard to get a hold of, and I'm not sure how much they knew about the product as well. It's a shame because if Denon had just taken the time to write a good manual people would not have to call. Anyway, the last annoying thing I found was that when I am watching TV and then decide to put on the stereo speakers by turning on the Denon, my TV goes blank and there is no sound for a couple of seconds while it switches to external speakers. I just wish it would be seamless and not block out sound and picture while it's switching to external speakers. It does the same thing when the Denon is turned off and it's switching to TV speakers. Overall though, in comparison to other devices of the same price range, I thought this was a good deal. So, I'm glad for my purchase.

Easy to use!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife surprised me with this as a Father’s Day present. Our old receiver had compatibility issues with our system and was pretty much obsolete. This unit fit our requirements perfectly. The setup was easy, and works perfectly with our other components. I think that overall it is a excellent receiver, and value.

still working the bugs out
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound is great, setup is easy, but have found out that when tuning the knob to change from "tv", "fm", media", "dvd", etc, that if it is not exactly in the notch, no sound comes out. My old receiver had no problem as long as it showed what it was connected to on the digital display. This will show on the display, but if the knob is not exactly in the notch, no sound.

Great sounding receiver at a good price
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sounds great with Klipsch speakers. This unit replaced a Denon AVR-X2300W that was damaged in an electrical storm. Has all the features I need and at a good price. I like the way it adjusts for the best sound quality for the speakers you use.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well. The sound quality is good through my 6 speaker system. Exceedingly ease to hookup. Make sure to look at the back to make sure the number of inputs and outputs match your needs and equipment.

Excellent entry level 4K receiver
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Man, this frequently was in and out of stock. Super stoked to get this. I’m not a super audiophile; just wanted a nice, entry level 4K receiver to pair with my new tv. Connected seamlessly to my LG and PS5. You can certainly pay more and get more but this met my needs and expectations for less.

Denon Receiver Is The Best
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great receiver, great price. So easy to hook up with on screen instructions. Had a different brand receiver but never had it hooked up right. The on screen instructions take you through the whole process of having the surround sound set up perfectly with their own testing procedure. Never had such a great surround sound set up like this.

Very pleased with my purchase
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easily configurable: you can set independent levels for each speaker + there are quick-select memory buttons. ARC input for TV connection, and a bunch of preset sound-modes. It has an auto-adjust function that I haven't tried yet; After some manual tweaking for my theater room, the sound is excellent.

Excellent receiver for the price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first non-Sony receiver in many years. I like the features on this one compared to the similar Aony, and my last Sony is now, mngysterously, a non-functioning doorstop. And that was with limited use! This feels more robust and has more needed features. Setup was easy and the sould is clean and clear. Pleanty of power for my needs.

Exceptional value, Straight forward design
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this as a replacement for my AVR-487. Very pleased. Value priced and Denon quality. Highly recommend. I have been enjoying and hanging onto my Denon AVR-487 for a number of years. But it lacked HDMI interface which made connections less simplistic as they could have been. Easy transition.

Sound doesn't always work with Roku
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound is good, set up is great, I like the automatic sound leveling with the provided mic. Using a Roku as input, sometimes the sound cuts out every 10 seconds. Very annoying. Tried a different cable. No luck. Plugged it into a different input jack, that solved it.

Great entry lever receiver.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was easy and sound is great for an entry level HT receiver. I was hoping to use monitor out on an older TV without HDMI but it wouldn’t work, I had to buy an HDMI to component converter. I was an Onkyo fan till I had two receivers over the years with bad solder joints and poor support.

Very good receiver for music streaming
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.excellent inexpensive receiver. I bought this to stream music from my laptop in the livingroom to this receiver. It works great. It turns on as soon as I turn on my laptop. Connects to the receiver and is ready to stream music before my laptop is ready. I do recommend this.
