Very good receiver for music streaming
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.excellent inexpensive receiver. I bought this to stream music from my laptop in the livingroom to this receiver. It works great. It turns on as soon as I turn on my laptop. Connects to the receiver and is ready to stream music before my laptop is ready. I do recommend this.

Big Bang for the Buck!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow - what a surprise! This AVR delivers much more than I expected, especially for the price point. I recently replaced my 20 year old Yamaha RX-V990 with this receiver primarily due to The Yamaha being analog and my Samsung QLED 75" tv being digital. With the Yamaha I couldn't listen to my surround setup for streamed TV like Netflix and Amazon Prime, try as I did with various digital to analog converter attempts. I was totally blown away at the quality of sound coming thru my Polk Audio surround sound set up with the powered subwoofer running thru the Denon. I firmly believe that the Set Up Assistant software and the speaker set up routine where the Denon tests each speaker and adjusts itself to maximize the speaker performance is so key in how great this system sounds. Now I'm not anyone's audiophile but I know what sounds good to me and I couldn't be happier with the S540BT. The speakers sound so clear and clean where before they were a bit muddy. Thanks Denon for making this affordable receiver with so many great features.

Big Bang for the buck
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had an old pioneer that hit the dust, did a bunch of research and ended up with this. It’s a main stage in my living room and sounds amazing for the price. Super easy to setup, menu is not overly complicated and just a great receiver for anyone looking to get into 5.1

Denon Receiver
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed to upgrade my old receiver which did not have any HDMI inputs. I needed a receiver to that worked with an Xfinity cable box. This was a good basic receiver that does the job with a modest purchase price.

Great buy on an excellent receiver!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I used the Denon to replace my old 20 year-old Kenwood in my system. The difference in sound performance is amazing.....crystal clear, great mids, and phenomenal bass through my JBL speakers. So many features and just a little over $230. I recommend it to anyone who needs a great value receiver.

Great receiver
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This receiver is excellent. It is a quality product which was easy to use and hook up to my speakers. I liked the test microphone. It balanced all five speakers nicely. Remote offers other adoptions as well. This product is worth the money.

Great! Perfect
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works perfect. Using this in a children’s music room and the audyssey eq learn is a big help making the sound better than without. Ease of use with the quick input buttons were a big selling point for me because the teachers need this to be as easy as possible.

A/V Home Theater Receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great system. Love the way you set the speakers up to perform to full potential according to the way your individual living room is set up. Sound is on point and feels like your at the movie theater. I would definitely recommend this receiver to anyone shopping for a new one. A child could set this system up it's super easy.

Good, but tech help can be better.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this for my brother who is not electronically savvy. He was upset about not getting a full, printed manual. Even I had trouble connecting the arc connection. Nowhere did I see that I could have connected HDMI out on the receiver to the DVI (HDMI) on the tv. I purchased a optical co-axial cable for nothing. Trying to call Denon was little help. The call backs were over an hour. Most of this I attribute to Denon. Long story short, I ended up taking it back. My brother will try to find an old-school one. I would have purchased this for myself, but fortunately I have a modern Panasonic receiver with all the connections we need.

Great Value & Very Good Performance
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.5 stars @ $350. Typical Denon -- which is to say very good. Relatively low power, but great for a smaller room. Hard to beat at this price point. Now, please don't interpret this as meaning this isn't a worthwhile product. It is. What it lacks is MORE than 5.1 channels and it also lacks more than 70 watts of horsepower. However, if this is for your "smallish" room or, in our case, our bedroom, you will be pleased. If you are looking for the control center of your big bad home theater set up, you will be disappointed. To step up, and I mean step UP, you will have to at least double your budget -- more likely triple it. My impression is that Denon and Marantz are the real deal. I have a much more expensive Marantz in the home theater room, but this unit is, hmm, "Marantz-lite" -- highly recommended.

Good value for price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great entry level, multi channel audio video receiver that is on par with other brand offerings at this price range. Even better if you can catch a sale. Audio set-up with included mic is very easy, nice having a standard tripod mount to aid in mic placement. Mic cord length is longer and set-up tones more complex than some other brands.

Big bang for the buck!
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Big bang for the buck! This receiver is one of the best I have purchased (I have two other Denon receivers). I love the bluetooth capability to be able to listen to songs through my Apple music library! Also, the sound is great for a bedroom sized room!

Good basic home theater receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simple setup and works great. Ability to control using phone is a plus. My home already had 5.1 speakers hardwired and installed in the walls, so no need to pay for the complexity or unneeded features of a model supporting 7.1 speaker system.

Denon!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great system for the price. Easy to install, has a lot of power and option. I retired my Onkyo receiver after almost 10 years and decided to try the Denon receiver. Was amazed at so many options it had for such a low cost system. Happy of my purchased

Good inexpensive receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use it as the base station for my 5.2 sound on the home theater. It is very minimal but does have bluetooth and allows for quad speakers to be set up (which is what I needed). Runs great and cranks enough air so that the floor shakes with the polk audio sub I have attached. All in all a great unit for the money!

Good entry level receiver
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set up was clean and easy, audio quality is excellent, it has a robust feature set that meets my needs. The only thing that is keeping this from five stars is that the automated setup neglects to tell you that you should attach the FM antenna... It's obvious that you need to, but they don't tell you to.

Great Receiver for Home Theatre
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am using this receiver in a garage/man cave with 2 TV’s and 4 speakers. Set up is a breeze and the sound is great. I didn’t want to break the bank for what I am using it for but this is a very nice unit that I wouldn’t hesitate to put in my family room.

nice upgrade
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I figured it was time to upgrade my Sony system (which was a 5.1)...waited for the sale and scored this receiver for a excellent price and the updated connections for the various components is a welcome change...easy setup and powerful enough for my 4k movies and music...Thanks!!

Very satisfied with performance and value.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Denon replaces a 22+ year old Sony receiver that failed. Impressed with the change in technology and how it reads the Blue Ray disc audio. Auto setup was easy. Gives a better than theater Surround Sound experience. AM/FM preset tuning was a little confusing.
