It works great with two definitive technology AW5500, two 8 inch 250w in wall speakers, and Yamaha sub. Super loud super clean.

Good sound and worked well with the surround sound speakers…3 years later it quit on us and we sre not using it. Had it hooked up to ATT receiver; it caused problems with AV power - TV kept dhutting off. Cslled Devon tech guys abd they said its out of warranty. Grrtr

However, receiver is very glitchy, and there is no internet access to upgrade firmware. Basic source switching often results in a blank white screen or some other HDMI handshake issue. Volume meter often stays up onscreen and doesn't go away. Returned to BB and upgraded to the much better wifi enabled AVR-S660H. Well worth the $100 premium.

I don't do gaming or anything like that, but for a movie sound thru your home tv instantly, this is the unit to buy.

It has discrete amps for all channels, supports eArc and overall has good sound. It even comes with a microphone so you can run the setup wizard to correct any imbalances in sound caused by speaker size and location. It does not have network connectivity which means no firmware updates, so bugs won't get fixed. Manual configuration requires some expertise.
