Once a quality brand, once.

The list of complaints is long, but I'll start with the misleading part of the product description. The 4k HDR passthrough only works when it's turned off, which makes it pretty inconvenient if you like sound with your movies. The menu graphics are reminiscent of the original Nintendo, except not as colorful. Amplifier is downright anemic, and doesn't do much below half volume. I'm also in the process of my second warranty claim. First the receiver stopped working, now the remote. Once everything is working again I'm taking it to the pawn shop, where it can become someone else's headache.

Posted .Hello JonM, we would like to apologize for your frustrations. Here are a few tips that may help improve your experience. In the receiver's settings, set the 4K/8K to Enhanced or 8K Enhanced, depending on the connected TV. When setting the receiver to “Enhanced or 8K Enhanced”, we recommend using an "Ultra High-Speed HDMI Cable” or “Ultra High-Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet.” The AVR-S670H is compatible with Dolby Vision / HDR 10+ / Dynamic HDR / HLG. It also offers 8K, 4K/120, and VRR for gaming. Another option is to set the HDMI scaler to Auto or OFF, depending on your Television.
Regarding the volume, the Volume steps have been set as a step feature function. We chose this method as it helps with distortion levels and speaker flexibility. Speaker sensitivity will vary from model to model, with some having 95dB or more and others 85dB or less. The higher the number, the easier it is to go loud. The receiver volume number is much more about showing which direction the volume is going rather than to indicate how much of the overall power is being delivered.
