Once we got it set up, it is a great receiver. A bit difficult to connect with 2 older components. Once we figured out we needed an RCA to HDMI converter, it worked beautifully. The RCA connections just didn’t seem to like the older VCR and DVD players. We connected to our new SONY OLED through the eARC HDMI. It flawlessly connected to the ceiling pre-wired surround sound speakers and the sound is amazing. I’d buy it again for sure.

Love this receiver! I replaced an older but more powerful Denon AVR2808ci and was impressed with the brightness and detail. The Dolby Atmos creates a whole new and encompassing experience! What a difference. I love that I can control it with my iPhone and send Spotify right to the receiver directly. At the $550 price point, i feel it sounds better than Some competitors receivers at twice the price!

The Denon wasn't my first choice but I found it an excellent answer to my need for a modern receiver in my home theater. My old Yamaha didn't handle 4K or audio return through HDMI, the Denon does it nicely. My only niggle with the system is that it won't connect with my early Bluetooth standard hearing aids. It works with my newer Bluetooth hearing aids and the old ones are backups so it isn't a big thing, but it was frustrating until I figured out what caused the problem.

Set up was relatively easy, and the AVR readily integrated with my LG TV and its Magic Remote. The HEOS app simplifies music streaming, and the Denon AVR app allows me to do most of the advanced remote control functions from my iPhone. I added a speaker selector to the Zone 2 outputs, and I can now use the whole house surround sound system the previous owners installed but neglected to document for connectivity purposes.

The Denon receiver has features including the ability to control 2 separate zones plus music in several rooms and the use of a HEOS music through Bluetooth sources. The installation through the Geek Squad was very professional and effective both in the amount of time spent and the instruction to me, the homeowner. The setup accomplished all of my objectives that I had when we chose that Denon model replacing our 14 year old Denon.

Purchased this receiver to have the ability to select music and control volume in different zones of the house with my iPhone. The Denon app is less than spectacular and not very user friendly... when it works. I've experienced inconsistent connection issues with the iPhone connecting to the receiver and often had to reset network connections, power cycle the receiver to reset/reboot, power cycle the router and the iPhone, which would work until the next time I wanted to remotely control the receiver via internet. Just a couple of months past the manufactures warranty, the iPhone won't connect to the receiver at all and tech support advised to replace the network card, which will likely cost a few hundred dollars. Other than that, the receiver works well, I'm just unable to use for the reason I bought it for.
