    I was disappointed by this open box purchase. My parents have Denon similar to his model which I loved. I saw this as open box and with my onkyo 616 just started having HDMI board death issues, I thought it would be a great fit. But I found it struggle to communicate with my Samsung and I was having issue with the dialogue during movies and TV shows. I just liked the sound of the onkyo better. I returned the reciever. I am hoping Onkyo come back.

    Unfortunatly can"t give a review becaue the cables weren't included. Something so miner that the seller should have mentioined.

    Got this a couple of weeks ago at BBY online. Very pleased with the audio quality, GUI, etc. Sounds great. But despite having two USB fans directly on top of the unit (blowing in), the thermal protection is kicking in. Not really in a confined space, but always a good idea to have good airflow blowing thru the vent openings. Placing my hand around the receiver, I don't seem to detect any hot areas. As a design EE, I'm well aware of thermal issues. I deal with this issue daily in my high power RF designs. So I'm acutely aware of how to effectively cool high power devices. However, as of now, this receiver is very tempermental w/respect to overheating. I guess another trip to Wallymart is required to buy more fans to provide even more airflow, but at some point I will give up and return. Shouldn't have to go to this extreme. This unit replaced a Yamaha RX-V671 that ran w/o issues (or fans) for ~8 years. Unfortunately, rather disappointed at this point in time.

    Thought it would have more power than it does. Have to crank it to 60-70 to get any real volume out of it then it overheats. Lots of nice features but ultimately not happy with it.

    I upgraded immediately! Got the Dennon x4300H simply because it was a much better deal for the money$ This is the heart & brains of your system so don’t sell yourself short get something that you won’t need to upgrade for years to come

    I didn't like the sound

    Hey, I recently upgraded my Onkyo 5.2 to Denon 7.2. I didn't feel a good sound like onkyo 5.2. I am using klipsch speakers.

    So far I have been very unhappy with the purchase. Setting up the surround with the included equiptment does not work. Power on the receiver cuts out and you need to start over, it happens again and again. Setting up surround manually does not work as there is no sound to some channels. Custumer support is non-existent,no one answers a phone. During use reciever will power off by itself and blink the power button.

    I had older onkyo so I wanted to try out a this denon. I should of of went with onkyo again. Nothing but problems with this model.

    We bought it 2 months ago and installed from Bestbuy Inhome installation, But after a month, unit keeps turning off in protect mode. Feels like waste of money. Now taking back and forth to bestbuy for geeksquad to fix it.

    Just got this and set up was easy and adjustment was easy. But after playing movies and any music with loud bass and the volume up high the unit keeps turning off in protect mode. Speakers are brand new and all the connections were fine so a tech said I had a defective reciever so hopefully with new unit I can give a better review. It sounded great until it shut off!

    For $600+ I expect to have a printed copy of the user manual & a remote that actually works. This remote has not worked since day 1. Sounds awesome, but I also bought some pretty good speakers separately. Easy plug & play components.
