Overall a fantastic receiver for the price point. Only issue I had so far was the Google Assistant commands are a little limited. There's no way to choose the input by command. If using Xbox, make sure to use the manual speaker setup and choose small speakers to get your subwoofer to work.

What a great experience I had at my local Best Buy store when I purchased this home theatre receiver. The employees had great knowledge of what I was looking for and recommended the best possible item for my needs.

Excellent sound! Much better than the Sony receiver I purchased a few months earlier. The sound on this unit had way better sound stage then the Sony I had. Unit runs warm, but nothing to alarming as long as you have proper ventilation.

Strong and powerful and yet, at a fair price. I especially like how two of the speakers on back are for "regular" rear of "Atmos". Of course it has front jack for headphones (for when wife doesn't want TV noise) and set up video guide is great.

After years of thinking I had a good 5.1 surround system……until my Denon was installed……WOW. Now I feel like I should have a ticket booth and charge admission to a true movie theater experience.

Used to connect multiple ceiling speakers in 2 zones. Can easily control both zones and even play same music on them using HEOS app. Plays Amazon music, Spotify and other streaming music quite easily.

Denon is one of the better brands to buy, I had Onkyo which is garbage, and Pioneer can't make anything much anymore. Pioneer is owned under Onkyo too. Denon is a beautiful system and has a much better Graphics Interface and Smart App.

great upgrade from my 2013 Denon ... a lot more capability and nice to be current with the now technology ... for me it is the best balance point above basic and before entering the ridiculous high end which is not needed by me

This unit replaced an older Denon receiver that died. The S960 has just about all of the connections you should need. The new app and price are the only down sides of this unit.

Disappointing! Don't buy for use with Xbox Series

Very disappointed! Don't purchase if you're wanting to use with an Xbox Series X. While advertised as supporting HDMI 2.1 passthrough, there is a chipset bug that prevents the full bandwidth of the game console to pass through to the TV. You are limited to HDMI 1.4 speeds (either HDR capped at 60hz, or 120hz at SDR -- no HDR at 120hz). The company does not have a timeline for a fix, and workarounds like using eARC are unacceptable due to lag. Until this is fixed, I can't recommend or give more than 2 stars, since I got this SPECIFICALLY for use with the XSX and a TV with 120hz and VRR. Besides that, the audio processing seems generally slow, and even with straight pass-through enabled, it still introduces some audio lag that requires compensation for rhythm games. It is an otherwise competent receiver, but this bug needs to be fixed ASAP

      Hello,
We are in the process of addressing this and will have more info released soon on a timeline for a permanent correction. Regarding 4K/120 and 8K in general, devices like the PS5 and any new video card from Nvidia pass properly through the AVR. denon

Fantastic receiver again from Denon. The only issue is the intermittent connectivity with Atmos on the Xbox Series X, but it works nicely with the applications like Netflix and Disney plus

Excellent receiver, except that it does not support radio app. In order to receive am/fm audio, need to purchase additional converter, which the Geeks forgot to mention.

Purchase this unit due to a need for more HDMI inputs and additional channels in comparison to my previous receiver. Has more crisp highs and better lows. Easily programmed on screen of TV.
