I like the receiver but if I can't make the subwoofer work then I would not recommend this receiver.

Phono input was a nice bonus. Sonically it was fine, but the HDMI switching was buggy, new firmware did not help. Others had the same issue. This was something I couldn't live with so it was returned.

I have to say I was truly disappointed! For a receiver at this price point you would expect extra bells and whistles but it’s pretty basic. It only has 3 sound fields other then your direct Dolby and DTS. For example my previous Onkyo had 31 and it was half the price years ago. It also wasn’t easy to set up, everything is buried in multiple sub menus and you have to set every field up separately. Once Onkyo released it was finally shipping the new THX receivers I returned this one and ordered the new Onkyo.
