Excellet AVR, easy set up guidance, excellent room balancing equipment included, great options for use, not to mention the great sound.

I thought AVR S970H would be more powerful. I had an AVR 3313 for the last 9-10 years. Loved it. Thought newer models would be substantially better, new technology and all. Not the case for me. IMO. Easy setup, The Audyssey isn't good. I had to turn the volume up 65 in order to get decent power. I ended up doing a manual speaker set up. WHich was better. Still turn it up to high 60's low 70's for decent sound. My AVR-3313 volume at 50 was enough. Although the S970H sounds decent it's not as powerful as the 3313. Maybe because I had the same receiver for 10 years. Not used to the new one yet. We'll see. I can always take it back. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this. But i'm finicky.

Absolutely this sound system. The Wifi and Bluetooth capability allows us to connect to our wifi for radio and to our Smart TV for sound. All our devices from TV to gaming systems can connect to it and the sound is perfecf and clear. It also allows us to customize the title to the different connections to make it easy to switch.

The first S970H I bought failed setup. It locked up. I called Denon support; 45 minutes later after two different factory resets, the very nice Denon tech simply said, "take it back to Best Buy." So I did. By-the-way, great tech support! 5 star support! The second 970 setup with no issues. My 7.2 home theater system came alive. I gave 4 stars due to faulty first S970H. It is 5 plus on the next unit. Setup was a no-brainer! Buy a cheap tripod for setup. The cardboard tower???? Well it did work but a hassle.

I did a lot of research when I bought this and decided this was the one for me. I am so glad I purchased this because it makes my whole surround sound so much better than my previous receiver. It was easy to hook up and adjust and it looks great to. I got it on sale and it is worth every penny i paid. I would definitely recommend this and I would buy it again if the situation arises

Bought this to be compatible with the new LG OLED tv I bought. Was pleased with how easy it was to setup with my current configuration. So far I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Excellent receiver puts out a clear clean sound with crisp and dynamic bass I have had mine for a couple of weeks surround sound is in credible receiver is connected to BOSE surround speakers along with an extra sub woofer easy connections and easy wifi connection.

My old NAD amp died and I had to upgrade it. I was going to get a Denon lower in the range but used ChatGPT to match it with my Mission speakers and it warned that while movies and games would be great, musoc would not be brilliant. When I matched the speakers wirh this amp, ChatGPT said it would be a great combination. I can confirm that! Amazing how much more it brings out of speakers I have owned for decades! And home cinema ia brilliant Must have a subwoofer to rrally get the most out of it

Denon Avr-s970h receiver purchase, I replaced my 10 year old Denon receiver that had a bad output. Glad it happened because this S970H is awesome connected to my Tcl 75 inch and klipsch surround sound speakers. Perfect match and tuning with the included audyssey microphone.

After serious product research and comparison shopping, we finally chose this Denon AVR. We've owned Denon electronics in the past and know the company produces excellent products. With Best Buy's Black Friday promotion, the purchase decision was easy and just to good to pass up.

The value of this was clear. I have a Denon running my video set up, and when my old Nakamichi died that ran extra speakers through the house and outside deck, I knew this would be the solution. I spoke to Danny @Danbury who was pretty young, but super knowledgable. He taught me to look at the back of the receiver and you will see the true power thats delivered per channel. This was double what a 100 watt yamaha at same price point delivers. And then it went on sale a week later, I started an online chat, and kinda instantly, they told me how to claim competitor pricing on the site, and poof, a $150 credit came my way. Lastly, I made a joke telling him Im only interested in McIntosh. He took me to the magnolia room and played an $80k set up. WOW that was a different level, but it demonstrated the quality of sound you get when you look at it per channel, because with McIntosh, thats what the gauges are for!. For the price, the S970h is a no brainer.

This is Denon’s previous generation home receiver. I purchased an open box of this unit when I was desperate for something in-store better than a JBL receiver that was not working well for me. Although I had to return this unit due to a non-functioning remote control (probably why it was open box), I was able to set it up using a universal remote control so my evaluation is based on actually using it. The features on the AVR-S970H are impressive. Lots of HDMI inputs, two outputs, 90W power, Audessey room calibration, network streaming capabilities and much more. However, for significantly less money, I was able to purchase a brand new AVR-X line Denon receiver that had almost all of the same features (certainly the ones I need) and I presume will likely be more future proof.

Just upgraded to the Denton - AVR-S970H receiver. Easy setup and great sound.

Great sound and plenty of sound options including upgraded Bluetooth connectivity. I am using the full potential of the receiver with front, surround and rear surround speakers plus subwoofer. Plenty of power. This is an upgrade from my previous Denon A/V receiver and have been pleased with both.

First of all I bought open box and the quality is excellent. Everything was included as was as described. It even had the original packaging with the tape saying it had been inspected. I will continue to buy open box because of all the great experiences ive had with best buy. The unit itself is amazing. The option for 2 subs, the amount of hdmi ports, the sound is amazing. I love the amount of power this unit puts out!

This receiver rocks! I own one of its big brothers and you can link them together in your house via wireless and have audio playing everywhere. This is awesome if you’re having a party and want to play the same tunes everywhere. The value is great and the feature set is awesome. You can even configure the receiver from a PC once you configure the wireless on it. It’s like programming a printer via its built-in web interface. Denon receivers have more balls than Sony receivers.
