    Denon downgraded the DAC and raised the price

    Be aware that Denon changed the DAC (Digital to Analog Converter) model used in this unit from an AKM DAC to a TI PCM5201A DAC. The new DAC has considerably lower THD than the original AKM part. While Denon did this due to supply issues, they should have changed the model number to clearly distinguish units with the inferior DAC! The DAC is the heart of a modern AVR's audio quality, and audio performance will always trail, at best, slightly behind the DAC. The old part had a THD of -107dB, the new part -93dB. Will you hear these differences? Maybe, maybe not. The point is that it is a significant performance change (dB is a logarithmic unit) and the manufacturer (and BestBuy) should have made this change clear. Now I'm stuck with a unit that will permanently have a lower resale value than earlier units of the same model, and it cost more than the earlier production units as well.

    This amp really wakes my speakers up. Everything sounds amazing. Only issue is it doesn’t work as advertised. Receiver does not pass though 4k/120hz from my Xbox series x

      We're very sorry for the poor experience. We will have a permanent solution for that issue in the near future. In the meantime, we suggest either outputting at 4K/60 from the Xbox X through the AVR or you can connect the Xbox X directly to your display and then use ARC/eARC to feed the audio back from the TV to the AVR. denon

    My first and last Denon product. Complete garbage, lost a rear Channel after a month. Denon’s customer service is the worst ever. The unit was repaired and still doesn’t work correctly. $1200 pile of junk. Denon won’t replace the unit, and Best Buy wouldn’t replace it out of the 14 day window, so Best Buy sucks as well.

    Should not legally be sold as a 4K 120hz receiver will not pass trough my Xbox series x signal and no info as to if it will be fixed

    Not much to say. I was excited to get this receiver in my home theater and it was broken straight out of the box. Each time the receiver turns on, after about 5 seconds it turns off and the red standby light starts flashing. Nothing is plugged into the receiver. Tried all the online trouble shooting I could and nothing works. It's very disappointing.

      We're very sorry for the poor experience. The unit is going into Protect. This happens when the unit sees an abnormality and shuts down to avoid damage. If the unit is going into Protect with nothing connected to it, then it already incurred internal damage and will need to be evaluated under warranty by an authorized service center or replaced by your dealer. denon

    I've had this Denon for 3 months everything has been great I was jammy out for a few hours then boom over heated now I have no sound

    Picked up system and have had issues as soon as setting up. The Audssey set up is useless does not work, have tried two microphones and now Denon wants me to drive the receiver to a service center, nearest one 3 hours away. Spent too much money on this unit for it to be defective. The waiting time for microphone to be sent out has now made it unreturnable. If you have problems return right away!

    have had issues since it was set up The audio keeps quitting and after 45 minutes it seem to come on tried resetting and that did not work was bought on April the 4th 12021

      We apologize for the troubles you are having with your AVR. Couple things to consider, is the receiver over heating inside a cabinet? The receiver needs some air to breath. If inside a cabinet, you can either leave the door open when in use or remove the back of the cabinet. Also, check all speaker wire connections to be sure nothing is crossed as this could lead to the receiver shutting off. Please feel free to call Denon customer service at 800-497-8921 denon

    Great AVR

    I am currently using the AVR X3700H in a 5.1 configuration and the sound is great. Set-up was pretty easy and Audyssey gave me excellent automated results. It is a little hard to find low level setting data in the manual but google queries are a big help.

    Doesn’t do 120hz pass through on xbox or ps5.. so if you’re looking for this features. Don’t get this.

      The X3700H does pass 4K/120 and 8K from the PS5 and has been tested to make sure that it does. Please make sure you have the 4K/8K Signal Format menu option set to "8K Enhanced" when using the PS5 with the X3700H. (GUI: Video - 4K/8K Signal Format) For any other 4K/120 or 8K source device, we will have a permanent fix coming soon. denon

      The AVR can pass 4K/120 and 8K resolutions from most 4K/120 and 8K sources. We are having a problem with one specific 4K/120 source and we will have a solution for that coming very soon. denon
