Customers are saying

Customers praise the AVR-X3700H for its exceptional sound quality, ease of use, and straightforward setup. Many appreciate the Dolby Atmos functionality and the receiver's powerful performance. However, some users note that the receiver generates significant heat and that the remote control could be improved. The price point has also been mentioned as a potential drawback by some customers.

Very good AVR, with the new IMAX Enhanced feature. Capable of 7.2.4 setup, with external amp for two of the channels. I did notice a good difference in quality of sound and picture. I made a good choice with this!

Love the capability of this receiver. It’s allowed me to connect to an existing sound system and stream music from multiple sources to multiple locations. It does create a lot of heat in a stereo cabinet so I am adding temp controlled ventilation.

What a beautiful looking receiver. I had the Yamaha and was not satisfied with the sound and input outputs available. This receiver has great sound and a ton of settings with plenty of options to upgrade. Highly recommend especially at the price.

Amazing receiver, bought as a replacement for an Onkyo 1030 that was dying. Better choice IMO over the next higher model, at least in the US where Auro3D is rarely seen. Audyssey is a good baseline for setup, and with an added 2 channel amp for full 7.1.4 Atmos, it's a great decoder. Pleasantly suprised with how well DTS:NeuralX handles stereo music. Much better than previous 'intelligent' systems for filling a room. NeoX and Dolby prior incarnations were never as good as all channel stereo but NeuralX does an amazing job, especially with complex music. 1 Star less though because it's HDMI-CEC is pretty twitchy and with a smart home system it often will switch to the wrong input upon turning on the system when several things that are in a standby mode are plugged in. Only happens on powerup though, and more of an issue with the tech, but happens more on this than other models.

Denton X3700h, Taking it back today. The preamp out feature not working. Seems ok in other respects. Spent 3 hours and did everything and trouble shot tons of possibilities. Bottom line, bad unit out of box. I suppose if you never used preamp out, you would never know and life would be good. Need to decide on another 3700 or go for the 4700, or just rethink, spend the $ and get the Anthem AVM 70. The over all sound is not bad with the internal amps and is good for this price point and receiver. I’m not knocking the over all picture, just the inconvenience of it all. Of note, I was replacing my Proceed AVP pre/ pro from the ‘90s. As a preamp, it weighs 7 pounds more than the Denon receiver. I’ll use it for turntable 2.1 channel only.

I had a 7.2 denon Avr, but wanted to upgrade to 5.2.4 with pre-outs. Very happy with this purchase and everything works great. If considering buying, i recommend, the prices of these avrs keep going up!

excellent receiver. Its rated as 105 watts per channel, 2 channels driven. I have ordered an amp for it was well. It is very good even without an amp. Previously I had the Denon S950H rated at 90 watts per channel, 2 channels driven & I had no amp on it for 7.2 setup. Music played only. That is the same setup I have with this receiver also. I just want to hear my speakers at a higher wattage to see how much they sound better, reason for the amp only. It had no dropouts streaming from my laptop to the receiver over blue tooth which is the only way I play my music. with the volume compared to my older receiver, you can notice the loudness difference. I use to play my old receiver volume at 45, this one is pretty much same volume at 38-40.

This AMO is really as good as the reviews say it is. Using it for surround sound in our TV room has brought new life and realism to movies. Geek squad was terrific at install and highly recommended.

This receiver is a great step up from my previous Onkyo. We have an 8 speaker setup and there’s still room to add a 2nd subwoofer and another pair of surrounds.

so far after 1 month in use, getting familiar with the channels, cross-over settings and the 7+2 atmos speakers. the app to control is not as easy in comparison to my prior Yamaha app for that system.

Performing nicely. Replaced a 25 year old Onkyo to get more up to date with current audio and video technology. Needed the preamp output assigns for my outboard amps which put this into a hard to find category these days because of short supply. Wanted the Onkyo RZ 50 but it hasn't shown up in stock at any stores within 50 miles in the several months I was looking. The Denon was a 2nd choice but since I'm using external amps I don't think the difference between the two was significant enough to continue waiting. Only thing I would like to see though is the ability to get my video apps (Prime, Netflix, Vudu) through the receiver instead of my disc player or TV...unless I've overlooked something.

Excellent receiver, a definite upgrade from my previous Denon receiver. The 9.2 Dolby ATMOS sound is truly amazing. Definitely recommend the 4k picture quality paired with the Epson 4k.
